　　　As I mentioned before, what I need to do first is to have a general understanding of each major. This is very useful for me to compare the difference of them and get a clear thinking. Business finance focuses more on the macro-economics. Through study, I summarized that business finance is about the general operation and future development planning of business, which put more emphasis on big enterprise or even governments. Financial planning or investments and financial analysis study more micro-economic knowledge. Financial planning or investments talks about the personal asset planning and the assessment of personal investment risk. Financial analysis, also referred to as accounting, focuses on the operating period of data and records and keeping the balance of finance. The comparison between earning accounting degree or finance degree I find is very useful for me. Accounting degrees are more useful after graduating than finance degrees, because we can find the specific position available in a company for accounting. “A lot of the time, someone who earns an accounting degree can actually work in the fields of finance, and vice cersa” (“Finance...”). According to that, I begin to find that accounting seems to be agood choice, but I can not make the decision so far.

　　　What’s more, there are still many other important factors I should consider about after the first step. For example, “The types of positions available and career opportunities for graduates of each business major” (Pritchard, Potter and Saccucci). We cannot ignore the future development of ourselves, because the first thing we should do after graduation is to find a job. Also, according to what I find on the BSU website, accounting major seems better in this aspect.

“You stand a good chance of landing a great job when your studies are complete. Placement rates are high among our accounting graduates, in part because of the quality of the program and in part because of the solid connections between the department and the real world. Immediately following graduation, most Ball State accounting students can be found in junior staff positions” (“Success...”).

Finding a position which has closely connected with my major in the university is good for better performance on the job, because what I do during working will be familiar to me. Also, I do not need to learn something totally new, which will makes the work harder and harder. “The personal and professional attributes needed for success in each position” (Pritchard, Potter and Saccucci). This point made me realized that there is another way to go after graduation: we can continue making research on our major and to be the professional of the  major field. The personality also should be considered seriously. Actually, this point is the one which I never think about but until this project. I find this point when researching information on the Internet. There is a sentence in one article, “students choose specific majors which they see as compatible with their particular personality styles” (Worthington). People with different personality should choose different kinds of major, which are more suitable for him or her. Reflecting to my topic, I think people who are very patient and have a good ability of dealing with data problems prefer to choose financial analysis as their major. People who prefer to control and manage everything as well as have the courage to risk can choose the financial planning or investments major and business finance major. After finding this, I find actually I am the person of this type. I am thinking about choosing accounting seriously. 

　　　After doing research and analysis like I mentioned before, I have finally made the decision of the direction in which I am taking my major. I am sure that I will choose the financial analysis major in my senior year. Since now I am taking some accounting courses, I find I have much more interest in accounting, and I feel I can have a further study on it. The course I am taking now is the principle of accounting. I find myself never feeling bored in class, and I am willing to finish any problems or exercises of accounting. Personality is another reason why I choose the accounting major. I think the personality of myself is suitable for accounting. I am not the person who prefers to try some risky things. The spirit of risk is not shown in my own personality. Also, it will make me feel confused if I control too many things at one time. Patience is a major part of my personality. I always solve problems slowly and seriously. I will not miss any of the mistakes that could happen in the work.
