Life On The Scenic Route To Senility

Bucket list:⁣ ⁣ ✅ Glacier National Park⁣ ⁣ What a glorious day. ♥️⁣ ⁣ I’m getting pretty good at visiting our beautiful National Parks during times when no one else is there. Like no one. 😊⁣ ⁣ Yes, some roads were closed (including the main road through the Park), the Visitor’s Centers were closed (which surprised me), and I found the east entrance closed after a 2 hour drive around the Park to get there. 🚫⁣ ⁣ No worries though. There were blue bird skies most of the day. ☀️⁣ ⁣ I arrived at the perfect time to capture double image reflections in Lake McDonald, and there were no traffic jams, no people to get in my photos - and basically no one at all. 🏔⁣ ⁣ It was a perfect day. 🙌🏼⁣ ⁣ I will definitely return, and would love to do some of the hikes. Maybe even camp. And I don’t camp. ⛺️ ⁣ ⁣ I’m currently taking applications for hiking/camping companions. I thought about not taking my laptop with me on this less than 48 hour trip, but decided to take it with me, because you know, there is always work to do. . 🤷🏻‍♀️ But, I’m happy to say I didn’t even take it out - on the plane, in the hotel, or in the airport. I used every minute of daylight to soak up the beauty of Arizona’s red rocks, deserts, forests, wildlife, the Grand Canyon, and today - Sedona. . . I treated myself to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant last night, and slept 10.5 hours in the most comfortable hotel room bed I’ve slept in in a long time. (I’d still be asleep if I hadn’t set my alarm. 😉) . . As a result, I didn’t have much time to explore Sedona today, but saw enough to know that I’ll definitely be back. ☀️⛰ . . I’m blessed that I’m living my dream, and that dream involves travel to many interesting and beautiful places. But I don’t take enough time to just see, breathe and be. Nothing is better than the feeling of achieving something you’ve worked hard for, that hasn’t come easily. ### I’ve got big goals for Roxxy and I, but the first goal I set was to achieve was a well-ridden, clear round at a big horse show. ### Today, we weren’t perfect, but I think we came together as a team. She covered for my mistakes, and I tried to help her with channeling her power and speed in the most balanced and efficient way. ### Not only did we achieve our first clear round together, we won the Power & Speed class, which means we had the fastest clear round. ### The blue ribbon was nice, but the tears I shed on the way back to the barn were from the feeling that comes from investing 12 months in improving my skills, and growing a partnership with Roxxy, but also the pride of pushing through fear, of working hard, and not giving up. ### Yes, this is a tiny goal, and small achievement. But it’s a big one for me. I defined have bigger goals, but the only way to achieve them is to knock off small goals one by one. ### Sarabi was a Dream Horse, but I didn’t work as hard as I could have to match her talent.
