Janis Joplin.
If you’ve ever wondered when Jupiter will next be aligned with Mars, Van Cleef & Arpels has a watch that will tell you. Its new Midnight Planetarium Poetic Complication watch has six rotating disks, each bearing a tiny sphere representing one of the six planets visible with the naked eye. The disks rotate at different speeds so that each sphere makes one revolution around the dial in the time it takes the actual planet it represents – Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn – to orbit the sun. Mercury in 88 days, Venus in 224, Earth in a year, Mars in 687 days, Jupiter in 12 years and Saturn in 29. It’s a very complex watch and a true display of supreme watchmaking. Time is indicated by a shooting-star symbol rotating around the dial’s circumference. Leveraging the brand’s specialty in jewelry, each of the planets are represented by precious and semi-precious stones, ranging from red jasper to serpentine and turquoise. An even more extravagant edition is available with baguette-cut diamonds set into the bezel. The planet module was designed by Christian van der Klaauw, renowned for his movements featuring astronomical indications. The movement is self-winding and contains 396 components. The case is 44 mm in diameter and made of rose gold. The dial is made of aventurine and the planets of semiprecious stones. Price: about $245,000; a diamond-set version will be about $330,000.

Dear every manufacturer of women's clothing, ever:
Faux pockets are an abomination. If you’re going to bother putting pocket flaps on something, add the G-d damn pockets.
No love,
Jilli
And make the pockets deeper, you soulless bastards.
You know what’s attractive?
Not this:
EVERYONE REBLOG THIS
On average, men’s pants have about 6 inch deep pockets.
IT’S 2013 AND WE STILL DON’T HAVE PANTS POCKETS EQUALITY

Innovative Dutch Aquaponics Setup Creates a Mini Ecosystem With Bamboo, Ropes and Old Water Bottles
Mediamatics introduced an aquaponic installation consisting of little more than a PET bottle, rope and some bamboo. Aquaponics is a sustainable food production system that combines the cultivation of fish and vegetables. It is a closed vertical system that utilizes natural bacteria cycles to convert fish waste into vegetable nutrients. Suitable for offices, for living rooms and for the narrow balconies, miniponic installations are likely to be the best way to produce food in the city. Unlike traditional agriculture, miniponics wastes no water, doesn’t need any fertilizer and its vertical design takes up very little space.
From Wikipedia:
"Aquaponics, is a food production system that combines conventional aquaculture, (raising aquatic animals such as snails, fish, crayfish or prawns in tanks), with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. In normal aquaculture, excretions from the animals being raised can accumulate in the water, increasing toxicity. In an aquaponic system, water from an aquaculture system is fed to a hydroponic system where the by-products are broken down by nitrogen-fixing bacteria into nitrates and nitrites, which are utilized by the plants as nutrients. The water is then recirculated back to the aquaculture system." - Wikipedia
