I love how jumping spiders can go from carefully cleaning themselves to demanding a lift in the space of a few seconds. They're tiny, adorable, and somehow full of personality!

What was originally our most hated spider has become our most cherished 🥹 And this makes our heart so happy. She truly is a spider plushie made of velvet 🖤

For many people, he was "just a spider." But for us, he was so much more than that.

Nemo's journey was unlike any other. During his juvenile stages, he developed an extra leg, something we had never seen before. Then, after his final moult, he lost a functioning leg and one of his pedipalps. Despite every challenge life threw at him, Nemo carried on with the same curiosity, determination, and spirit that made him so special.

He taught us an important lesson: disability does not mean inability.

As someone who is physically disabled myself, Nemo's story resonated deeply with me. Watching him adapt, overcome obstacles, and continue living life on his own terms was both inspiring and comforting. He reminded me that our differences do not define our worth or our ability to thrive.

It's hard to put into words how much such a tiny creature could teach us, but Nemo truly changed the way we see resilience.

Thank you, little man, for everything you taught us and for allowing us to share your journey with so many people. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Because of this loss, we may take a couple of days away from posting while we process and grieve. It might sound silly to some, but anyone who has loved and cared for an animal, no matter how small, will understand.

We think this little jumper might be a recessive male, but they're keeping their secrets for now! Sometimes juvenile males develop their telltale features later than expected, so we're waiting until the next moult before making the final call.

Until then, this tiny mystery bean remains officially unsexed.

Our hunch says recessive male, but in their next moult, we'll be more confident, so we're holding them back a little longer.

Those tiny "happy taps" are actually part of how jumping spiders explore their surroundings, using sensory hairs to gather information about the world around them. And of course, no adventure is complete without a quick face wash afterwards!
