there is blatant transphobia and islamophobia in huniepop 2 and as this series continues i’m sure we’ll see more nasty stuff in it. the trans character, polly, not being picked up as a woman at first was a needless, transphobic detail. the muslim character, abia, talking about how she’s “made” to wear a lot of clothes, is extremely sexually repressed, etc. is islamophobic. i understand that many aspects of the game are supposed to be jokes, but jokes shouldn’t have to be at the expense of marginalized people.
@markiplier hi, people are not digging huniepop for a variety of reasons. the transphobia and fetishization regarding polly, the islamophobia with abia, the trivialization of assault when abia gives lola a patdown, etc. these are just a few things that make people very unsettled with the game.

And the fact that the play CHOSE Polly’s genitalia was very sickening. It is highly offensive, and trans individuals are beautiful as the people the are. It’s disgusting how trans people are seen as sick fantasies. The statement the dev said it didn’t seem like a big deal and why people are upset about it shows just how uneducated and uncaring he is. The game is bound to get more comfortable as it goes on. We care about you, Mark, and we mean no disrespect, but this game is harmful and offensive to most of the audience. No one should normalize/sexualize transphobia, Islamophobia, or sexual assault and harrassment.
Can we also talk about the uncomfortable vibe with Lil and Ash too? Like they literally say they are COUSINS, but it's suddenly fine because they aren't blood related? They are STILL family! We shouldn't normalize shit like this!
