I don’t like to drive
So, I really really don’t like to drive. For years, I have thought I would like to live in one of those places that are what I call “self-contained,” where I could live, work, buy necessities all within a walking distance. I mean like a regular community, not a commune type place - that’s definitely not my vibe. I don’t think I’ll ever get there, but it’s a nice thought. I suppose there are plenty of people who feel the same way, what with traffic being the mess it is almost everywhere. Of course if I ever figure out this whole work from home thing and make it pay the bills, I’m set. I have a ways to go on this one, however. I’ll probably get it about the time I’m ready to retire. So, hey - something to look forward to in my golden years!

Take Care of Yourself. You’re worth it!
Do a few nice things for yourself during the holiday season and any time of the year for that matter. Take a few moments to close your eyes, relax, take a deep breath or two. Think of something or someone for which or for whom you are grateful. Know that you deserve good things, good moments and take care of yourself.Â

Save your money
I'd like to share a few tips for saving money at the grocery store. You can see the related video on my youtube channel Jeani B and Things. Here's the link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uynRuc54FA8. First, these are all things that you probably already know and just need a reminder from time to time. 1. Make a list and categorize it into food item and other household items such as detergent, toothpaste, etc. It usually only takes a few minutes to write out a list. 2. Stick to your list- do not get distracted. Stay focused on your list and your budget. 3. Shop on your own if you can. That may not be possible, but it seems to me that the more people you take with you, the more money you spend. If it's not possible to shop on your own, then try to consider that when you make your list and set your budget. These are just a few quick tips. You can do it! Save your money.

DIY- Not So Much
I seriously have some things I need to do. You see, I fancy myself a bit of a diy-er, but I so am not. I like to watch how-to videos online and convince myself: “Hey, I could do that.” I’m lying to myself. And this isn’t even like when I’m lying to myself that I could fit into those skinny jeans (no), or that I can cut my hair and it will look just like a pro did it – it won’t. No, this is the type of self-deception wherein I, a person with absolutely no training or experience in the fields of plumbing, carpentry, or design, watches an expert craftsman remodel a bathroom and I think: “ooh, I should do that.” Of course, I don’t. I actually probably won’t do any of it ultimately. My general contributions to such chores are usually standing, holding, and fetching. I’m sure some of you can relate.
