ADAMANTINE

              The smile on her face grew at his words but dropped slightly as he put his fingers on her cheeks ‘ ‘mari don’t do that, I've got a magazine shoot coming up and I don’t need spots on my face.’ she whined, moving his hands from her face to her waist. Closing the distance between them by slipping her arms around his neck, the brunette laughed at his words ‘ First off, you have a bigger head than I do. Secondly, a big ego is a job requirement.” she countered , well aware that the second reason wasn’t exactly valid. ‘ Two hours ? are you serious? that’s literally no time but I can hop in the shower now, let katie find me a dress and shoes and accessories and then stay in hair and makeup for an hour’ she rambles, not even talking to Omari in that moment but rather planning out her time. ‘ What are you wearing though ?’

        ‘ Yeah sure whatever.’ She retorted clearly over that part of the conversation. Besides, whenever the two did ‘ break up’ it was usually because Josie got mad and called it off - even though she’d be trying to get back with him within a few hours. An overdramatic frown made it’s way onto her features as he approached her - she couldn’t even pretend to be mad at him when he smiled. As cliche as it sounded, it was probably one of her favourite things. As he cupped her jaw, a small smile unknowingly crept onto Josie’s face. ‘ fine, i mean - it’s like work but it’ll be better because I get to see your parents.’ she muttered before continuing ‘ I’m glad you noticed that you rag on me but anyways how long do I got to get ready before we leave ?’

           ‘ Wow, seriously ? Just cause shits not going your way you wanna break up? You’re fucking pathetic.’ she sneered, eyes rolling as she got up from her previous position. She moved past him, heading towards the kitchen, phone in hand as she texted her glam squad to head over. ‘ Babe ’ she spoke, sarcasm dripping from the word ‘ you’re the one making such a big deal so fucking get over yourself and go get changed.’ 

          A smile made it’s way to the brunette’s mouth at the words that left his mouth - sure, they weren’t meant to be taken as him agreeing with her but she regarded them as one nether the less. ‘ that’s the spirit ’ she retorted a dry laugh leaving her lips. Leaning back into the couch, she places her feet on the couch so that she’s now lying down - a clear show to prove that she’s not kidding... even though she is. ‘ Hold up,’ she starts, debating if she really wants to push it that far. ‘ Nah, I mean yes of course me being comfortable is all that matters,’ she drawls, a sly smile on her face ‘ but we can’t just cancel on your parents.’

                    An unempathetic sigh leaves her mouth, he’s right but she has way too much confidence to admit that so she instead ignores the question completely. Truth be told she didn’t mind dressing up, that was apart of her job after all - it was the idea of meeting his parents which drove her reluctance. She was the type of woman who had sweet talked her way through life but for some reason the idea of meeting, Omari’s parents put her on edge.  ‘ are you trying to say I look like a charity case right now? ’ she questions, focusing back onto Omari. The blank stare she was trying to convey failing horribly as the makings of a glare made itself prominent on her features.
