Giving a soft roll of her eyes at him, she glanced up. “I don’t nap. We know this. Plus I’m so excited to just relax and actually spend time with you since we don’t really have the same schedule,” she smiled as she rested her head against his arm. It wasn’t like they didn’t spend time together, but when she worked the home games, she left at three and came home at midnight as he worked during the day. She was thankful that she didn’t do away games unless they truly needed her to, or she would never see him.
As she relaxed in the car, the redhead folded a leg under her to get comfortable. It wasn’t a big drive, but it was definitely long enough that she needed to be comfortable. Although, her excitement was keeping her posture straight up instead of resting against the seat. “I hope a witchy ghost. How cool would that be? But I definitely hope no accusers. When I was researching more about Salem, I read that apparently they thought redheads kept the spells in their hair. Which, I never pulled out a spell before, but maybe sometime in the future. Who knows.” It wasn’t really anything new for Vienna. Redheads had every weird rumor in the book, being soulless the main one. She would have been shocked if there wasn’t anything about redheads during the 1600′s
“Babe, I’ve caught you snoozing with the girls. Hardcore evidence against you. It was right there on the couch and everything.” A smirk came along with the rather adorable memory. Spending the rest of the drive time going back and forth, enlightening her how a lot of the so-called ‘witches’ of both men and women were also of color making it a hate crime. (Not surprising in his eyes.) The man saw injustice everywhere for people of color and was always the first to speak up about it as well as defend those taking such things because of that stupid prejudice.
But, that subject was set aside when they got to the Salem Hotel. A dimpled grin carried them through checkout along with the bags he’d taken upon himself to get so they could reach their fantastical yet modern suit. Awaiting them inside being some white wine chilling on the kitchenette counter and little Dove candies in the shape of “Happy Birthday, V” on the bed. Special details he had made sure were there to help add to some romantic element of surprise.
