judith  is  sweet  enough.  sam’s  more  comfortable  around  her  than  the  other  people  he’s  met  so  far  (rick  is  alright,  but  men  with  steel  eyes  make  his  stomach  turn  and  twist;  carl  is  so  angry  that  sam  feels  bitten  by  his  flames,  and  thinks  of  his  own  childhood).  there’s  something  very  reassuring  about  her  presence,  the  existence  of  her  life  at  all.  in  a  world  like  this,  it  was  a  testament  to  survival,  and  love.
