A story requested for @phoenix-the-mistfit-fire-bird Hope you like it.
Rosita had raised twenty-five piglets. She knew the difference between someone who was simply tired... and someone who was trying far too hard to pretend they weren't sick.
Unfortunately, Amelia Holmes—known to everyone as Mia—was doing exactly that.
The theater was unusually quiet that morning as the cast prepared for rehearsal. Rosita noticed Mia carrying stage props across the room, her movements slower than usual. She paused every few seconds, pressing a hand against her forehead before continuing.
Rosita frowned.
"Mia?" she called gently.
Mia turned, forcing a smile.
"Oh! Morning, Rosita. I'm fine."
Rosita walked over.
"You don't look fine."
"I'm just a little tired."
Rosita reached up and placed a hoof against Mia's forehead.
"...Mia."
Mia blinked.
"What?"
"You're burning up."
"It's probably nothing."
Right on cue—
Achoo!
Mia sneezed so hard she nearly lost her balance.
Rosita caught her before she could fall.
"Okay," Rosita said firmly. "That's enough."
"I'm okay."
"No."
"I can still rehearse."
"No."
"I don't want everyone covering for me."
Rosita folded her arms.
"Mia."
"...Yes?"
"I've raised twenty-five children."
"..."
"I know every excuse in the book."
Mia sighed dramatically.
"I'll survive."
Rosita smiled patiently.
"I know you will."
"..."
"But not if you keep pushing yourself."
Mia looked away.
"There are things that need to get done."
"There always will be."
Rosita gently took the box Mia was carrying.
"But today, your job is getting better."
Five minutes later...
"...Rosita."
"No."
"I didn't even ask anything."
"You were going to."
"...Maybe."
Rosita led Mia to one of the dressing rooms, where she'd already gathered blankets, pillows, tissues, water, and a thermometer.
"...How did you do all this so fast?"
"I have children."
"...Fair."
Rosita pointed toward the couch.
"Lie down."
"I'm not tired."
Mia yawned halfway through the sentence.
Rosita couldn't help smiling.
"Sure."
Mia grumbled all the way to the couch before collapsing onto it.
"...Okay... maybe I'm a little tired."
"A little?"
"...Maybe... very."
A short while later, Rosita returned carrying a tray.
Warm soup.
Tea with honey.
Crackers.
Fresh fruit.
Mia looked at the food.
"I'm not hungry."
Rosita gave her a look.
"Mia."
"..."
"When was the last time you ate?"
"...Yesterday?"
Rosita blinked.
"Yesterday?"
"I forgot..."
Rosita pinched the bridge of her nose.
"No wonder you're feeling awful."
Mia looked sheepish.
"I was busy."
Rosita set the tray in front of her.
"And now you're eating."
"But—"
"No 'buts.'"
"...Can I negotiate?"
"No."
"...Half the soup?"
"All of it."
"..."
"And the fruit."
"..."
"And the tea."
"...You're impossible."
Rosita laughed.
"I've heard that before."
As Mia slowly finished her meal, some color began returning to her face.
Rosita smiled.
"Feeling any better?"
"...Actually..."
Mia admitted quietly,
"...Yeah."
"I thought so."
Mia leaned back against the pillows.
"I guess I was being stubborn."
Rosita chuckled.
"Just a little."
"A lot?"
"A lot."
They both laughed.
After another yawn, Mia's eyelids became heavy.
Rosita gently pulled the blanket over her.
"Go ahead."
"I don't usually nap."
"You do today."
"...Will rehearsal be okay?"
"I'll let Buster know."
"...Everyone's going to worry."
"They'll be happier knowing you're resting than watching you collapse on stage."
Mia couldn't argue with that.
"...Thanks, Rosie."
Rosita smiled warmly.
"Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is let someone take care of you."
Within moments, Mia was asleep.
Rosita quietly picked up the empty soup bowl with a satisfied smile.
"Stubborn," she whispered fondly.
"But she's going to be just fine."
Outside the dressing room, Rosita gently closed the door and asked everyone to keep their voices down so Mia could rest.
After all, even the hardest workers sometimes need someone to remind them that healing is just as important as performing.
Glad I am getting back into the rhythm again! Been busy on the side. But there will be more to come for stories and art trades/pieces.

After a long weekend with no rehearsals, Rosita was tending Mia's wounds after she got hurt protecting Buster from a burglar that tried to attack him.
"Argh! That bloke had no chance against me!" Mia groaned.
Rosita grinned. "He cut you with a knife, hun.Now hold still. I'm almost done."
Ash came by a moment later. "Mia, what happened to you?"
Mia scoffed. "It's a long story. This bloke had us at knife point and he just slashed my arm. Luckily, I thought quick enough to get him on the ground." Mia chuckled.
"Well, I'm glad you're alright, but don't scare me like that." Ash said.
Mia smiled. "I won't."
"So, why don't we call it a day, shall we?" Buster suggested.
Rosita nodded. "Right after I'm done."
I know it's short but I'm still getting ideas. Hope you like it.
My newest Sing story. Sorry it's been a while, but hope you all enjoy it.

Everyone, keep up the amazing work and Happy Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Now, on with the show:
Ash tapped her foot and awaited for her ride to the theater. A cold wind nipped her mischievously on the nose and Ash shivered as she wrapped her scarf tighter around her neck.
Finally, a familiar truck rumbled in front of her and Johnny reached his long arm to pop the door. "Sorry, Ash, holiday traffic."
Ash eyed the cup of hot chocolate. "Yeah, was Starbucks busy?"
"Line around the block-" Johnny paused and blushed. "Okay, yes, I stopped for hot chocolate. But come on, Ash, you know I'm a sucker for their peppermint mocha."
Ash climbed in beside him. "I'll forgive you when you run me by for some coffee."
"But we'll be late." Johnny said.
"Moon won't mind. We can't start till Mia shows up anyway."
"When's her flight getting in?" Johnny asked.
"Should be any time. Now how about that coffee?"
"Fine, but you going to be the one to explain why we're late."
"I told you Moon won't mind."
"Not Mr. Moon I'm worried about."
Ash raised an eyebrow as Johnny shifted into drive. "Who then?"
"Miss Crawley."

Amelia Holmes yanked her carry-on over her shoulders and made her way through the gate if her flight. It was December 20th and already the air port was crowded with animals boarding planes, eager to get to their destinations to be with their loved ones.
Amelia felt a twinge of heartache as she remembered there were a few of her loved ones she wouldn't be seeing this holiday season. Buster had asked her to spend the holiday with him and his family and help them prepare for this season's show. A musical adaption of A Christmas Carol, which Buster had asked Amelia to co-direct. Now, she was moving through the terminal, her suitcase rolling behind her as she scanned the area for two reasons: One, potential dangers and two, her friends Nick and Judy, who had offered to give her a ride to the New Moon Theater.
Suddenly, her phone began to buzz. She grabbed it from her bag and smirked at the caller ID.
"Lass, I told you I'd call once I was out of the air port." She said, amused.
"Well, I was worried." The voice belonged to Amelia's good friend, Katie Archer.
"Hey, Aunty Mia! Did you land safe? Your arms didn't get tired, did they?"
Amelia laughed as the voice of Katie's 6 year old son, David chimed in.
"No, sport. All safe."
"Did you remember to pack your pain medication? The doctor said you're to REST! Why you decided to take up Mr. Moon's offer while you're still in recovery is beyond me." Katie said.
"Yes, I packed my-
"And you're wearing your scarf? I heard it's bloody cold."
Amelia pawed the scarf wrapped securely around her neck that Katie had gotten her. "Wearing it now."
"And remember to-"
"Katie! It's not my first trip! Relax, I'll be fine."
"Well, the last trip you took you nearly returned in a body bag." Katie replied.
Amelia rolled her eyes.
"I heard that."
"Lass, I'm in safe paws. I'll text you when I get to the theatre. David?"
"Yes, Aunty Mia?" David piped in.
"Keep an eye on your mum and keep her out of trouble while I'm away."
"Yes, ma'am!"
"Good lad. And Katie?"
"Yes?"
"I'll be safe. Call you blokes soon."
With that, Amelia hung up and then caught sight of a familiar bunny and fox.
Judy waved as she ran up and hugged the vixen tight whilst Nick grabbed her bags. They all piled into Nick's car and began their hour long drive to Buster's theatre.

Buster Moon was humming a Christmas carol to himself as he went over his cast list. The cold, tight-fisted hater of the holiday himself was being played by the former reclusive rock legend Clay Calloway. Johnny was to play his underpaid, but ever hard working employee, Bob Cratchit whilst Ash was to play his less nicer, no nonsense wife, Mrs. Cratchit. Rosita's two rascals, Casper and Rory would be playing the Cratchit's two younger children while Nooshy played the older girl, Martha. Rosita herself was playing the Ghost of Christmas Past while her partner, Gunter was to play the role Buster felt belonged to no other, the Ghost of Christmas Present.
Based on her height alone, Meena was to play the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. Scrooge's nephew, Fred was to be played by Meena's boyfriend, Alfonso. And finally, Jacob Marley was played by Johnny's father, Marcus.
Buster smiled at the list in satisfaction and looked at his watch. Amelia would be arriving soon. He had asked her to come spend a few weeks helping them with the show and to help take her mind off work.
"Moon!"
Buster jumped and whirled around to see Clay walking towards him. "Didn't mean to scare you. Listen, I had a question about my character."
"Oh? What's that?"
"Says here that I spend a majority of my scenes in a night gown and robe. I have my own robe? It's dark red with my and Ruby's wedding anniversary embroidered in the chest area. Alright if I wear that instead of the robe you provide."
Buster beamed. "Of course! That sounds like an excellent idea! Like, in a way, Ruby's apart of our show!"
Clay chuckled. "Yeah... she loved the Christmas season." He then cleared his throat and rolled his shoulders back to regain his composure. "Right, I'm going to practice my lines." But before he could go leave, Rosita and Gunter entered. "Buster, we have a costume emergency!" Rosita cried. "There's a hole in the sleeve of Gunter's robe and we don't have the fabric to match!"
Buster frowned. "Oh, well-"
"Hey, Moon!" Ash called as she entered with Johnny, both carrying holders with steaming hot drinks.
"Hey, Ash! Johnny!" Buster checked his watch. "I thought I told you to be here by 8?"
Johnny nudged Ash. "Told you."
"Well, we brought peace offerings!" She said as she began passing out cups of hot chocolate.
"Mr. Moon! Rosita!" Meena cried as she ran in. "The piglets into the props closet!"
"What? They-"
"I'm guessing this a bad time?"
The group turned and saw Amelia standing on stage, a Santa hat propped on her head. "Merry Christmas?"
"Mia!" The group cried as they raced and embraced the British fox.
"Never a bad time to see you!" Buster replied. "Just a but hectic today."
"Dealing with crisis are my specialty. How can I help?"
"Sweetie, you're supposed to be resting." Rosita said.
"I'll do that when I'm dead. Hit me with it, Bust, what do we need?"
Buster rubbed his chin. "If you're feeling up to it, we need green fabric for Gunter's costume."
"On it."
____________________________
"Okay, crew! We are scheduled for two shows, back to back nights, the 23rd and the 24th, Christmas Eve! After that, the annual Moon Crew Sleepover! Same as last year, we'll clean up the stage, set up the Christmas tree and set out our mattresses and sleeping bags around the stage."
"And seeing as today's the 15th and we're still working on choreography, I say we get busy." Clay said.
"Agreed! We'll start with God Rest Ye, Gentlemen? The scene where Scrooge is walking home back to his home." Buster leapt off stage as everyone scattered to their places. Amelia joined him in the aisle as the stage hands adjusted the lights to fit the scene.
The stage treadmill began to move as Clay began to walk. The scene, a classic, 18th century London setting passed by him on a repeating cycle as the song and dance actors made their way to stage.
"Hey, Mr. Moon!"
Buster bit back a groan. Now wasn't the time for distraction. "Yes, Artica?"
The white Bengal tiger ran up, panting as she halted beside where Buster and Amelia sat. "I got the green fabric you wanted!"
"Great, thanks. Find Ms. Crawley so she can fix Gunter's robe, will you?"
"Will do!" And with that, she raced off.
"Energetic, isn't she?" Amelia mused.
"I never should have let Ash give her coffee."
"Mia!"
The red vixen's ears twitched in the direction of her name and she beamed as Johnny's father, her old friend and basically adopted brother, Marcus raced into the theatre. "When did you get into town!?"
Before Mia could reply, Marcus grabbed her into a tight embrace.
Amelia let out a muffled squeak and Marcus yelped. "Sorry, love, don't know my own strength sometimes." He said as he loosened his grip but didn't release her.
Now able to move her arms, Amelia hugged back her childhood friend. "It's great to see you, mate! Staying out of trouble?"
"Ah, yeah, me and the lads still holding security for this fellow." Marcus grinned as he affectionately ruffled the tuft of fur atop Buster's head who laughed.
Marcus hopped into a seat on Amelia's opposite side to catch up whilse Buster continued to direct.
Once the scene was done, Amelia had them practice the scene where Clay would be visited by his nephew. Here, Johnny and Alfonso had a small song duet before they're rudely interrupted by Scrooge.
Practice went on till late that night. Buster's reason being was that he wanted to put as much practice as he could into today so that the following day could be spent at the mall Christmas shopping.
____________________________
Meena awoke from her slumber with a jerk as a horn blasted through her dreams of her and Alfonso attending a Christmas ball.
Flying out her bed, she ran to her window ans yanked it up to see the New Moon Bus parked on her street.
Artica was waving enthusiastically. "Come on, Meena-chan! It's shopping day!"
"Oh, gosh, my alarm!" Meena cried as she raced to her closet and grabbed her clothes.
She was just about to pass the kitchen when her mother, Betty, stopped her with several things of Tupperware. "Here, sweetie! Muffins and goodies for you guys to chow down on the way to the mall."
"Thanks, Mom! I'll see you tonight!"
"There's some buttered Muffins in there for Buster and Amelia especially!" Betty called as Meena tugged on her jacket and raced out the door.
The door to the bus swung open and Meena scampered in. She hadn't gotten by the first seat when she felt a fuzzy plopped atop her head. Some loose floated off and into her trunk making her sneeze.
"Bless you!" Artica said, beaming.
"Santa hats, so we can find each other better." Buster said as he straightened his own hat. "Artica's idea."
"Blimey! Are those your mum's famous scones?!" Johnny cried.
"Yep, she packed them for us for the ride." Meena smiled as she passed him one.
"Brilliant! They're the best!" Johnny tucked in and practically melted. "Her baking is the best!"
Rosita popped up from behind a row. "I heard that!"
Johnny blushed. "Sorry, Rosita, but you gotta admit." But before Johnny could take another bite, Rosita snatched it and took her own bite.
Gunter opted for a chocolate one and Buster chose a butter flavored one.
Near the back, Amelia was waiting for a response from Katie. So far the lynx had sent her gift ideas for David and now Amelia was waiting for her to send her own Christmas list.
Her phone alerted that Katie had replied and that her only wish for Christmas was for them to be together as a family. Amelia smiled, amused. Of course she'd said that, the sly fox thought. Good thing she already had an idea for the lynx and planned to get it at the mall later that day.
A short time later, they arrived.
As they piled out of the bush, Buster began the plan.
"It's 10am, we'll split up now, shop and meet for lunch in the food court at 12. Then a bit of more shopping, browsing and finally back on the bus and heading to the theatre to wrap gifts. Any objections?"
"No, now can we please get inside? It's starting to snow again." Ash said as she pulled her Santa hat down to better cover her frozen ears.
"Yep!"
____________________________
Upon entry, the group stared in awe at all decorations that hung over head. Much like walking upon the kingdom of the North Pole itself.
Buster clapped his paws together. "Alright, guys! Let's go!"
The group said good bye for now and went their separate ways.
The mall was massive, filled with stores with every type of item imaginable.
Johnny, Meena and Ash had decided to stick together for the first shopping half, eager to get gifts for their mentors and parental figures before gathering gifts for each other.
"What are you getting Buster and Clay?" Johnny asked. "I found a store that has tool boxes you can get names embroidered on. That's what I'm getting my dad." Johnny said.
"I got Rosita a fluffy blue robe, it's super soft with her initial." Ash said.
Meena laughed. "I got Gunter the same thing! His is gold."
"Now Clay, I got him a new guitar case. And Buster..." Ash tapped her chin.
"What about Amelia? I got her a whiskey glass that looks like a bullet going through." Johnny said.
"I got her a satchel bag with her initials." Meena said.
Ash frowned. "I can't decide what to get them."
"Well, that's why we're here! Come on, let's go find out." Johnny encouraged as they walked deeper into the mall.
____________________________
Rosita and Amelia had teamed up and now were finishing up the piglets' Christmas list. Luckily they could pay now and the gifts would be mailed to the theatre the next day.
Rosita smiled as she looked at all the assorted ties. "These would be perfect for Norman."
"Come on, Rose. A tie? That's boring. Don't you want to get him something with a little more... pizzazz?" Amelia asked for she knew what Norman had planned. A charm bracelet with 27 charms to represent himself, Rosita and their children and another bracelet to represent the family she created with the Moon Crew. Nevermind how she found out, she was a detective after all.
"You're one to talk." Rosita teased, lightly tugging the turquoise ascot hanging from Amelia's neck.
The fox scoffed. "Come on, no ties."
With that said, she dragged Rosita to a jewelry store next door.
Amelia had this store in mind for two reasons.
One, Norman had spoken about needing a new watch a few months prior, of this Amelia was about to remind Rosita.
And second, she had Kate's Christmas gift delivered here.
Amelia steered the mother of 25 to the watch section. "Oh! A new watch!"
"Aye, you browse on what he'd like while I speak to an employee." Amelia scanned until she saw one standing near a case of rings. "Hello, I had a shipment sent here. Should be under Amelia Kristine Holmes."
The employee, a deer nodded and turned to her computer. "It just arrived!" She disappeared and returned a moment later with Amelia's gift.
"For that special someone?" She asked, cheekily.
Amelia shrugged. "Something like that." She opened the box which reveled a heart pendant necklace.
"What's that?"
Amelia jumped and turned to see Rosita. "Nothing. I- did you pick out a watch?"
Rosita narrowed her eyes but to Amelia's relief, agreed to change the subject. "I did! It's beautiful. Now, what are you getting your partner?"
"Basil?"
"Yep."
Amelia was glad she was a red fox otherwise Rosita would have caught her blushing. "Er... how about a tie?"
Rosita gave her a smirk and dragged her to the watch section.

Buster and Gunter were having a problem. Not from LACK of ideas, but because they had too MANY ideas.
So far, the ideas were a new guitar for Ash, a baking kit for Meena, a new skateboard for Johnny, a new dress for Rosita, the list went on.
Buster finally stopped and took a breath. "Okay, Gunter. We need to go about this smartly. Johnny just got his new skateboard, but I do know he's been wanting that new Just Dance Wii game to play with Nooshy. Now, Ash, I think she'd like a new jacket. That band she likes just came out with a new one. Meena-"
"How about that for Meena!" Gunter pointed straight ahead.
Buster followed his finger and smiled in agreement.
It was a massive Totoro stuffed plush. Perfect for Meena. She loved things studio Ghibli. "Genius, Gunter!"
"Ja, and for Rosita I was thinking, like a spa day, ya know? With that jacuzzi, the mani pedicures, the whole works!"
"Great! This mall has an amazing one! We'll get her a gift card along with that new dress she's been looking at. Amelia needs a new trench coat, preferably one that's warm. She caught a bad last year."
Gunter smiled. "We're such great brothers!"
Buster returned a smile and thought to himself on what he planned on getting Gunter. He had a few ideas in mind, but one in particular kept coming to mind. A new dance wear bag with gemstones and a new dance outfit.
Meanwhile, Gunter was brain-storming himself on a gift for Buster. At first he considered enrolling him in dance class, perhaps they could do it together. But then he came up with a better idea. He would get Buster an brand new coffee maker, with all the fixings and a new blue mug, which had a yellow cresent moon on it.
He'd get it once they split up to shop a second time.
____________________________
Artica was waving from a table when the group met in the food court.
"The Chinese food is amazing here!" Artica beamed as the group sat down with their own food.
Amelia tossed up a fry and caught it in her muzzle. "Agreed."
"We'll drop off what we have so far in the bus and then dive back into shopping after lunch." Buster explained.
"Hey!"
The group turned and saw Porsha walking up with a wolf with a darker gray pelt. "Happy Christmas! What are you guys doing around here?"
"Christmas shopping! Who's your friend?" Buster asked.
"I'm Josh." The wolf smiled.
"My boyfriend! Are you guys still planning on doing a Christmas Eve show?" Porsha asked.
"Yep! Can I get you guys tickets? On the house!" Buster smiled.
"Sounds great! I'm a huge fan. I play guitar if you're looking for an extra player. " Josh said, nodding to the Moon Crew's solo guitarist, Ash.
"Sounds good, kid." Buster said.
"Well, we're off to do our own Christmas shopping, but we'll see you guys at the show!"
With that, Porsha and Josh said their good bye's and disappeared into the crowds of animals.
"Say, the ice rink is going to be open tomorrow. What's say we go after practice tomorrow?" Johnny said.
Amelia winced. "I'm still sore from the last time."
Rosita playfully punched her shoulder. "Just means you need to practice more."
"Sounds good. But if we're going to go, I want at least the 1st act done and complete. All agreed?"
The group did a collective aye and resumed their meal before returning to their holiday shopping.
____________________________
True to their word, the group practiced hard and even finished part of the second act.
It wasn't long before they were back on the bus and heading to the Calatonia Ice Rink.
Amelia was adjusted her laces and eyeing the ice nervously. Gunter expertly skated up to her and smiled as he held out his hand and Amelia accepted it, allowing him to pull her onto the ice. Gunter kept a helpful hand around her waist whilst she focused on keeping her balance.
Buster skated past and quickly snapped a photo of the two before joining Rosita in a playful dance duet.
Johnny and Nooshy were nearby practicing their own dance, listening to Nooshy's holiday mix with their head phones.
Ash was skating nearby, lost in her own music while Meena was enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with Alfonso just beside the rink.
A little later, the group had separated, gone to their own homes.
Buster and Amelia in doing some late work in the theatre.
Amelia was looking over a script whilst balancing a glass of whiskey with her paw. "This scene, with Meena, what if she broke into a song right before she tosses Clay, er, Scrooge into the grave hole? Sort of like a 'last chance' thing?"
"Brilliant! What song did you have in mind?"
Amelia rubbed her chin. "Silent Night. We put it into a somber tone, a darker one. Sort of... a threat?"
"Mia, you're a genius! It'll be easy to learn. We'll start on this tomorrow!"
Amelia finished her drink and stood up, stretching. "Sounds good, mate. Want me to write a quick draft?"
Buster smirked. Amelia was just as bad as him when it came to work. Rosita always teased that she'd sign them up for workaholics anonymous.
"Not tonight. Rosita will know if we've stayed up too late. Let's get to bed."
Amelia looked at her glass. "I didn't drink that much, so I'm not drunk. But did I hear you say you're voluntarily going to BED?"
Buster raised his paws. "Hey, Santa Claus is watching, so I need to be on my best behavior."
Amelia walked over and plopped onto the couch. "That makes two of us."
Buster smiled as he took a blanket and draped it over his friend before heading up to his apartment.
Amelia had nearly drifted off when her phone dinged. With a groan, she checked the message and saw that it was from Kate. She sent a picture of her and David building a gingerbread house. Amelia smiled and sent a smiley emoji before closing her eyes.
____________________________
The theatre was becoming packed as animals crowded in.
The last of practice had been a success. Meena of course, was excellent in practice, bursting into song after she shows Scrooge his grave marker, frightening the character into the grave plot.
Now the show was about to begin.
Hobbs entered, following behind Nana Noodleman. Buster was there to greet her, along with Amelia. The former actress nodded to them both and was escorted to her usual seat in the box.
The show was a success and earned a standing ovation.
Clay was phenomenal in his performance, capturing the icy, reclusive personality of his character.
Johnny played Bob Crachit charmingly and Ash brought sweetness to her character as well as venom when Bob thanked Scrooge for the meal.
Gunter obviously played his part well, as though he were the embodiment of Christmas spirit.
Artica, playing a stage hand and various characters clapped from behind the curtain.
The group joined each other on stage, paw in paw and took a bow.
Buster and Amelia smiled proudly. Amelia turned and put a paw on Buster's shoulder. "Brilliant work as always, Mr. Director."
Buster beamed at her.
____________________________
The next night show was as good as the last.
And since it was Christmas Eve, Buster came out and gave a small speech.
"All creatures, great and small! Thank you for coming to our show! It's been an amazing year and we at the New Moon Theatre would like to thank you all for your continued support! Here's to another amazing year of fantastic shows!
For now, let us all return to our homes safely. I wish you all a magnificent and happy Christmas!"
The crowds applaud as Buster left the stage.
Porsha and Josh stayed behind to chat and congratulate the crew.
"It was like, amazing!"
Josh nodded in agreement, though he was a bit star struck by being in the presence of Clay who smiled and gave him a friendly wink.
Artica was happily chatting away about the whole production, congratulating Meena and commenting on her outfit.
Meena blushed at the praise.
Once everyone was gone, clean up began. Once that was through, Marcus and his crew moved the Christmas tree to the center of the stage and everyone started putting their sleeping places around the tree before they placed the presents out.
Buster disappeared behind the curtain whilst the others went about their tasks. He maneuvered his way to the cat walk and stepped onto the props moon hanging over head. There, the koala glanced down to observe his family below.
His heart was warm and full of love for the animals that walked below him.
His phone began to vibrate and he glanced at the caller ID and smiled at the message that was sent. He then looked down at the red fox helping one of Rosita's piglets hang an ornament and his eyes beamed with mischief.
Down below, Johnny and Marcus were placing a large chair beside the tree, one they used last year when Clay played Santa Claus for the piglets.
Ash appeared with her guitar while Meena followed behind with a book, the Night Before Christmas.
Buster made his way back and cleared his throat. "Clay, would you do the honours?"
The lion smiled as he accepted the book and took a seat. A few of the piglets climbed in his lap whilst the others sat around him.
"Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse..." while Clay read, Ash played Silent Night on her guitar and as Clay's words and the gentle music came together, Buster could swore the tree lights began to glow brighter.
After the story was done, a few Christmas carols were sung before they all tucked into their blankets and fell into a slumber that brought joy and anxiety for the next morning.

Amelia felt a touch to her chipped ear and gentle massage that made her snap out of her dreams. She looked up and her eyes widened in surprise to see her friend Kate smiling down at her. "Happy Christmas, love." She said.
Amelia sat up. "I- how-"
"Happy Christmas, Aunty Mia!"
Amelia grunted as she felt a familiar bundle launch himself into her middle. "David? How are-"
"It was Mr. Moon's idea." Katie said nodding to the koala who was standing beside Marcus.
"Figured you were missing your friends." Buster smiled. "So I invited them down here for Christmas!"
"That's-" Amelia looked back to the lynx sitting beside her and smiled. "That's the best Christmas gift ever."
With David's happy squeals, the others began to wake.
Introductions were made and it wasn't long before David and several of Rosita's piglets were chasing each other happily around the theater.
Clay clapped his paws. "Okay, kids! Time to open presents!"
The kids skidded to a halt and returned to the stage. David claimed his spot on Amelia's lap while Katie and Rosita were involved in conversation.
Ash dived underneath the tree and began to drag out presents.
Soon the stage was covered in wrapping paper as the group began to open their gifts.
Ash gasped in delight as she immediately tried on her new jacket. "It's exactly like what the band wears!"
Meena was busy hugging her new Totoro plush. The plush was half her size, but still bigger then normal.
Johnny was busy with Nooshy, talking about the new Just Dance he had received. They were waiting till later to go to the break room where a massive TV and the Wii consol was waiting.
Nooshy was snuggling into her new hoodie she got from Johnny.
Amelia had her paw resting on an electric blanket she had gotten from Kate. Her eyes sparked mischievously, wondering if this was Kate's way of saying for her to get more rest.
The fox glanced at David who was flipping through the pages of the gift she gave him, a new Sherlock Holmes book, a complete collection with colored illustrations from the original stories. Atop his head was a genuine deer-stalker hat.
She then reached under the tree and grabbed two gifts. Katie opened the bigger one which was a complete series set of Call the Midwife, the other-
Katie gasped. "It's beautiful, love."
Amelia smiled, mischievously. "Hold it to the light."
Kate did as she was told and her eyes immediately teared and her paws began to shake as she looked into the heart pendant.
It was a photo of her and her late husband.
"So he's always near your heart." The words beneath the photo read. Kate blinked back tears as she glanced at Amelia. The fox smiled and Kate embraced her tightly as tears began to freely flow down her cheek.
As she went to put it on, she struggled with the clasp. Amelia stopped her and Kate smiled sheepishly as she turned and allowed Amelia to put it on.
The pendant fell just above where Kate's heart would be.
Rosita was wearing her new robe, admiring the charm bracelets Norman got her while her husband sat beside her, adjusting his new watch.
Marcus was running his hand over his new tool box while Berry and Stan munched on their Christmas gifts of holiday treats.
Gunter was trying on his new sparkly dance outfit and the piglets were enjoying their new toys.
Clay was taking in his new guitar case which had his and Ruby's favorite song lyrics embroidered on the lid.
Buster sighed, contentedly as he sipped coffee out of his new mug and listened to the happy chatter around him.

After all the shows the Moon Troupe had done they decided to have a get-together party for all the success of their last few shows they did.
Amelia came by a few moments ago, but wasn't feeling like herself lately.
Buster was scoping around looking for Amelia, but no sign of her. "Rosita, have you seen Mia around at all?"
"Maybe she went into the restroom." Gunter said.
Rosita frowned. "I'll go check on her."
As Rosita opens the door, she sees Mia over the sink, washing her face and breathing heavily.
Rosita was worried. "Mia, are you ok?
She put her hand on Mia's shoulder as she got closer. "AHHH!" They both scream in unison.
"Mia! It's ok! It's me! You're ok!" Rosita held Mia as she was hyperventilating.
Mia's breathing started to slow down as Rosita held her tightly. "Rosie."
"Shhhh. Shhhh. I'm here. Everything's ok." Rosita said while she soothes Mia.
Mia broke into tears. "Why won't it stop?"
Rosita was confused by what Mia was saying. "What won't stop?"
Mia sniffled. "My PTSD. Every time something triggers me and all of the sudden my heart is racing, my flashbacks keep repeating over and over again. I just want it to stop!"
Rosita frowned. "Mia, I know there's a lot of things that have been making you feel scared. But you're not the only one who has PTSD. I often have a hard time sleeping because I almost lost Buster. Look, all I'm saying is, it takes time for all those bad memories to go away. And you don't have to fight it alone."
Mia's breath hitched and chuckled. "Thank you, Rosie."
Buster and Gunter were waiting in the lobby for the two girls to come out. "I wonder if Mia's alright." Gunter said.
Buster sighed. "I know, but I hope it's not too bad."
A moment later, Rosita and Mia came out of the women's restroom.
"Mia!" Buster said as he hurried in for a hug.
"Are you alright, Mia?" Gunter asked.
Mia smiles. "Yes Gunter, I'm alright." She looked at Rosita gratefully.
Buster chuckled. "Well, there's still a party going on."
