Becoming Who I Am

Having a cup of coffee in the morning is a habit I started in my senior year of college moving into my my first year working. True, in my mind coffee is more a vehicle for creamer than anything else, but it is a ritual that, for me, the morning just seems incomplete without. When I was working (as opposed to going I school and teaching, I do still work) most of my mornings started with a plastic travel mug, but now that I am back in school so many of my mornings have the luxury of a ceramic mug, and I have collected mugs for years. When I travel, rather than getting little souvenir that will collect dust on a shelf, I prefer to get a mug (many of them from Starbucks, I will admit) that will help me remember the trip. Yes, that means that most beverages at my apartment are consumed from mugs, rather than glasses, but that’s okay. But I don’t often get to show them off, so I decided to do that, starting today. A mug and a story (or more likely a mug and a comment about the memory). This will probably not happen every day, because I don’t remember stuff like this well enough. Today’s mug: Andrews Academy mug. This was where I went to high school (not actually in the mug of course, but st the school featured on the mug) and it was a gift from a coworker and friend who is very involved with organizing Alumni stuff there. So yeah, #mugoftheday.
