The Lexile Hub is a great way to increase student growth in reading and mathematics. To search by interest includes the following categories: Animals, Bugs & Pets; Art, Creativity and Music; General Literature; Hobbies, Sports and Outdoors; Science Fiction and Fantasy; Real Life; Science and Technology; Mystery and Suspense; Reference. ⚜️
You are able to search by grades K-12 (easy, just right or difficult). If you know their Lexile measure then you can input it yourself. I used the ‘Search by Grade’ feature and put in ‘5th grade’. The results were 109,153. You can either choose “Find on Amazon,” “Find in Library,” or “Open Library.” 📚
When I chose “Open Library,” I had to search up the book and click ‘Borrow' after my Google sign in. I was given one hour to read the book or given the option to purchase. I decided to borrow it. There was a read aloud option where I could change the language as well, even the speed. Once finished I clicked the ‘Return Now’ button. How cool is this!!! This is absolutely amazing!!! 😎
The “Find in Library” option brought me to a database to include several options of local and non local libraries that had the book in stock. I happened to see that Birmingham, Alabama was the closest library to me in Metairie, Louisiana. However, I’m sure my local library would be able to request for me to borrow it if I chose to. Try it and let me know what you think? 🚀
