I'm What Dreams Are Made Of

My best friend is a beautiful and kind man named Jesse. Or, that is the name I know him by. Many of you in the roleplay community know him as prince-arrogance and liphlich-wataru.

Jesse was born into the wrong body. He was born female, but that’s not what he wanted to be. And because of this his deeply religious family has shunned him completely, other than the occasional phone call to tell him what a disappointment he is.

About two months ago Jesse’s twin brother went missing. After almost a week of the police searching and trying to find leads, his body was discovered. He was beaten to death by an unknown party.

Since then Jesse has been in and out of a psychiatric hospital, which is really no surprise. His brother accepted him and even if they argued, they had each other’s back. And now he is gone.

Today Jesse attempted suicide. He took almost a full bottle of pills and drank a bottle of vodka, and was sitting on the roof of an eight story building for almost three hours while I talked to him. He is in Finland and I am in the USA so I had no idea what else to do. I told him over and over and over how much I loved him but it wasn’t enough. His family hates him and his brother is gone. He was tired of the pain and tired of the sadness and he told me goodbye.

Somehow, I don’t know how, but somehow I kept him talking long enough that paramedics were called and he didn’t have a chance to jump. He is now in the hospital and the doctor doesn’t think he’ll make it. No one is hopeful.
