They didn't accept binary files (which is fine, my gender isn't binary) so I had to base64 encode doom, but even though it froze chrome for nearly 8 hours, I was able to paste a full copy of the Doom install disks into the form.

as a side project while waiting on chrome to unfreeze, I developed a way to encode Doom into PNG files that could safely be posted on Twitter without them being corrupted into JPEGs, as Twitter loves to do.

Anyway, the thread is here, but really all you need is this one screenshot.

Your grandma can't just post her completely non fannish cookbook to AO3 with no alterations, that's not allowed because it's not a fannish work

if your grandma rewrites her cookbook to be an in universe hobbit cookbook, complete with stuff like commentary and changing some ingredients to tolkien-y names and cooking instructions to match tech level (with appropriate translations and substitutions offered to the reader of course), then she can totally post it to AO3 cause that's definitely a fanwork now

If your grandma's cookbook is already a star trek recipe cook book, that she maybe wrote for an early mailing list or such, then it probably already qualifies to go on AO3 because making recipes for the random alien dishes mentioned in sci fi works is def fannish in nature

Jeraldy 🌱

one of my major thoughts about kirimi is how the fire fucked with his mental state to the point of destroying any remains of his past self. i often think about if kirimi would've been willing to lay there and die, only realizing he needed to get up as the kids shake and cry at him to get up. he'd spend late nights while recovering sitting wide eyed in silence or scratching his wound open all over again.

later down the line he'd grow more and more distant, acting robotically to the point that neither jungle nor jeraldy could tell the difference between the clones or kirimi himself. they all acted the same. uncaring and blank, working under some goal that jeraldy had suggested. since jeraldy was the one to suggest plan, kirimi found more importance in him. though he was still on his shoulder guiding him toward his own twisted version of this plan while the others were only pieces to put it in motion.

it was hard to ignore the slow death of the same numa who cared for jungle and jeraldy back then, and i feel like whatever was left truly died once jeraldy did. he had nothing to tether himself down anymore and let his mind be consumed by anger and the thought of revenge.

Warning I yap about Kirimi a lot because I love him!! HERE'S MO4 IN THE BIG 2026 LETSGOOOO

Backstory HCs:

- He was born in a family of altruistic, “normal” people. But contrary to the popular belief, I see him as someone who’s just born selfish and weird if this makes sense??

- He was stoic and self-centered as a child (much like MDCR Kirimi) and he has unusual interests that no one cared about or understood.

- But the thing that fascinates him most is power, how it operates and how it affects things. It helps that he’s born a numa, an agile, magical species.

- His interest in power is highlighted once he hears about Marikin and Daeru, though he doesn’t have a vivid image of how the incident looked. (He canonically says he knew what Marikin did AND he threw a massive fit when Sara (Daeru) helped out in v4. I think there’s an interest at one point especially with how power-hungry Daeru was, and his villainy matched hers to a tee.)

- Actually, he didn’t know how violence looked. He had never witnessed a corpse or death in life. Maybe when he heard about murders he’d just imagine stuff like..the bonk meme and the corpse having “x” eyes.

- Despite all his weird characteristics, he does care about his family, even though their ideas contrast to his. He would follow their footsteps and act like a “normal” person, not that people care about his interests anyway.

- He would mimic the way people express their emotions, presenting himself as a polite and respectful person. (He’s so normal in the flashback it’s unbelievable)

- Since he’s a numa, he probably has faced racism. (Y’all the whole “inferior species” dialogue in v4 and the constant “yOu AlL lOoK tHe SaMe” has to mean something. The word “Ikenuma” literally translates to the R slur.)

- Not only racism, but he’s treated like how a normal person would be treated. Like maybe he tolerates uninteresting conversations or people's flaws in order to conform. But he knows humans are flawed and greedy by this point. (In v3, he said that humans are greedy and always want more. And in v4 I see his relationship with Francois as him tolerating/masking, but despising people's flaws?? Even though it ended terribly)

- Then there’s…the genocide. When he lost his family, his friends, and his eye. Finally, a genuine display of violence right before his eyes (or eye, haha)

- During Sigkin’s POV of the flashback where Kirimi ran into the kids, I like to think that he was rushing to see if his family is okay but happened to have ran into them.

- Under the assumption that his family was still alive, Kirimi tries to act what his family perceives as “kind.” He pushed aside the culprit and tells the kids to run.

- After he got slashed, maybe he passed out.

- He woke up by the time Sigkin left. And by that time, when he rushes to see his family again, they’re no more.

- So what did he save these kids for? Why is he even acting nice at this point? His very reasoning is gone before he could even reach to them.

- He then proceeds to groom and manipulate people out of his selfish wants. No more moral leash and there’s an excuse to act on his thoughts. He was the victim, right? An eye for an eye.

- Unlike anyone who’d be terrified by violence, he’s not. He actually finds it beautiful. This is prob why he was never exposed to violence when his fam was still alive

- Maybe he DID take care of Jeraldy and Jungle as a parental figure for a bit! But after a while, his intentions changed since no one's here to stop him anymore.

Additional HCs:

- I agree with the fandom he’s probably interested in marine biology actually, due to its unusualness. Though he doesn’t mind sacrificing marine animals for his bigger goals (HE HAS NO REMORSE FOR HIS FISH IN V3!!!)

- I think he’s interested in very weird and nonconforming stuff like..the concept of hell?? Or otherworldly stuff like demons/Old Doll. (Bro can’t stop yapping about hell. Did you see the "hellhound," "hellmegalodon" and "see you in hell")

- He info dumps, acts vain and calls out mainstream society because no one cared about his interests.

- Imo he feels like the type to be a pretentious character who thinks he’s more open-minded/unique than everyone else for being alternative but that could be just me.

- I like to think he didn’t like violence (the genocide) when it happened before him, and only started to become fascinated not long after.

- He said he’ll “heal his wounds” by taking his anger out on others. I do think it’s true he’s angry about his hometown but yk it can also be an excuse to unleash anger and violence at the same time

- So in v5, we see that he tears meat with his fangs despite holding cutlery.. I imagine it’s because he used to eat like a feral animal as a child, but his family would correct him and lecture him on how to use cutlery. He relapsed because they’re gone, but he’s still holding cutlery for them.

- He also constantly smiles and acts polite because it’s a “normal” thing his parents told him to do!!! But he does it weird because they’re not here to educate him anymore.

- Maybe he’s obsessed with Sigkin because of how it relates to Daeru? This might be far off tho

- Or it could be that because Sigkin is literally the one to show him how “beautiful” violence is. That’s more likely.

Crack HCs:

- He’s probably dropped as a baby because there’s something inherently wrong w him

- He ate bricks as a kid

- His breath smells like rotten metal

- UGLY AS HELL but his iconic fish draw people to him

- The moistness of the fish calms him down and soothes his scar. So Sigkin n gang screwed up big time when they cut his fish
