It went okay! It’s been absolute chaos! But we’re getting there! I have been in such a writing rut, so I don’t believe there’s too much to catch up on!!

I was so busy ! good busy but traveling with 2 friends for 2 weeks leaves no alone time/time for tumblr. I didnt even get to sleep much. got back on Monday and slept 25h since 😂

Okay, where do I even start. JJK content was hit or miss in Japan? imo merch could have been better. and more! I didnt buy much tbh. But it was so nice to see regardless. Actually Seoul had the better Gacha?? all JJK0 themed. I got lucky and pulled a cute little Yuta & Gojo with my last cash on the day we left 😊 (It was cheaper to fly to Korea and from there to Japan, so we basically stayed/went to 5 cities overall ...id still recommend but more time would have been nice. as always work stands in the way of everything good 🫠)

My absolute highlight was the 4D movie at the Universal Studio in Osaka!!! It was pretty short and i didn't understand a word of what he said but seeing (teen!)Gojo live on screen healed my soul in ways i cant describe.. it gave me endorphins for days 🥴 absolutely surreal

I dont think i mentioned it anywhere on here but this trip was actually the reason i started watching JJK. I wanted to get back into anime again to make the most of the experience and it was def my best decision in 2026 so far 🙏🏻 also starting Spy×Family but obv thanks to my hyperfixation on a certain someone and this amazing fandom nothing compares to JJK atm

I don't know. Probably not. Or maybe I'll half watch it to keep my mom company. I heard season 9 was good but it doesn't undo all of Gimple's damage to Negan, Carl, the story and so on. Even if Negan is written good now (I don't know if he is or not), he still isn't really 'my Negan' and he makes me cringe. Lol. I mean, part of me wants to like his banter with Judith, but the bigger part of me just can't.

I used to have FearTWD to get my TWD enjoyment but Gimple went and ruined that too with his BS. Used to have the comic but Kirkface kicked it to the curb. I dunno, maybe I'm bitter about all of it. Lmao.

But I'll still always love Comic Neegs..

Ok, you make a good point. Although it is the reason why I dislike the placement of this scene. The entire mood, weight and meaning of the scene is different from the comics. You’re entirely right that TV Negan didn’t apologize because he didn’t feel sorry, he hadn’t yet gotten to that point and it was all about ending his own suffering. Not guilt over the suffering he caused others. Just his own. It makes sense for TV Negan 100%. Hell, you’re actually right that it wouldn’t even be genuine if he did apologize. It’d be more insulting to Maggie than anything.

At the same time, it makes me wish they hadn’t even done this scene because other than to show TV Negan is miserable and sad, he hasn’t grown in any way. I don’t even know if TV Negan is capable of remorse and empathy so maybe everything I’m griping about is a moot point. Maybe he’ll never feel bad about what he did.

I know I can’t expect them to act the same, I still do ‘enjoy’ comparing them but at this point it’s like comparing apples to oranges. You’re right that TV Negan hasn’t gotten the same experiences that Comic Negan has. That’s what bugs me about having this scene at all because it loses it’s value. Or, rather, it just takes on a different value - we see a sad Negan, a powerless and suffering Negan and a Maggie who at least gets to feel some small vengeance against him. It’s more about her than him, whereas in the comics it felt like it was a turning point for both of them. Comic Maggie got to feel revenge/closure and Comic Negan was humanized, humbled and repentant. And yeah, it’s a total bummer she is leaving (?) (I’m not entirely sure, it’s something about her contract…) But damn all these characters leaving/getting killed off sure does mess with these comic moments. Maybe they should just split off from the comics entirely, honestly. Not do any comic things, just keep the stories completely separate.

realistically Michonne should have went in* with Maggie as backup but she would habe been in the way. the scene was more intense with just Maggie and Negan, 1vs1.    dramatic effect > realism  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

but what i thought was so funny is that Negan probably heard everything Michonne and Maggie said arguing and later vice versa.. so awkward! xD

it wasn’t said on the show but i assume they also go with this ‘once Lucille died he stopped feeling, before he was just a regular asshole’ narrative. but tbh without Carl and Rick idk who would bring him back but they’ll find something xD they gotta. they’ll do everything to make him more likable bc he’ll play a big part in the show after all. i suppose the whisperers are a pretty safe way to do so? they are so cruel and fucked up that Negan will seem like a reasonable guy? xD they prolly hope that as time goes on the characters and viewers will just forget about Negan’s atrocities.

It’s just, so far they didn’t do a very good job. You just gotta have a look at the comment section of the scene uploaded on YT, it’s full of ppl thinking that it was all an act. that Negan tricked Maggie so he can live. That’s not the case but even i was looking for a twist. bc that’s how they portrayed Negan in the past two seasons, as a genius manipulator, always a masterplan up his sleeve. i think you also saw this post trying to explain his behavior in 9x04 suggesting he did the self-injury to get medical attention/out the cell so he can look for the bat. but now i really doubt that. perhaps it even might have been a suicide attempt?? it’s just not clear and no one knows what to think of his actions rn.

This season is very fast paced, which is refreshing but not good for Negan’s redemption arc. Seems like there are still a lot of ppl who don’t know the future plot of the comics/where Negan’s character is supposed to head and those ppl especially are pretty lost when it comes to his current behavior. That alone means the writers failed. you can’t expect ppl to know the comics and his role there, to be able to interpret the scenes right.

Have you heard about the movie trilogy they’ll do with Rick and Anne now? Those helicopter ppl might be Commonwealth or another original group. i hope it’s the latter so the writing is unbound. But… actually Scott Gimple is writing those movies ^^” but he also wrote 9x05 which was a decent exit for Rick… sooo dunno. maybe it’s not totally terrible but I’ll never forgive him for Carl. that’s for sure

I totally get your frustration and anger as a die hard comic (negan) fan who was promised an on-screen adaptation. and i’d totally do the same but at some point you gotta ask if you’re doing yourself a favour with this^^“ i hope it’s still more entertainment than agony to you. i’ve had franchises i cared so much about that i’d let them mess with me when it would have been better to just let it go.

They actually have some solo movies(?) planned. which will highlight character’s backstories. and Negan is one big name floating around. a lot say Abraham or the Governor, Dwight (before or during time jump) and even Merle or Daryl basically could be anyone?? xD but now that they mentioned pretty much every detail* we learn in "Here is Negan" on the show i'm not sure how useful his backstory would be? but maybe they do it anyways for sympathy and bc it's easiest time wise? all the other actors aged too much since. *Lucille being his wife, dying of cancer, him cheating and not able to take her out/bury her. plus they would have to change the savior origin story anyways^^”  based on what this one dude in S7 said & TV Dwight/Sherry it’s already different. therefor I’m a bit conflicted here. oc i wanna see as much JDM as possible but i also know they’ll make it weird
