Stuff, I guess. Whatever.

through the dark night waters

by a crystalline yacht

named The Apple.

My rowboat is an appleseed,

cobbled together from

wrecked masts and torn

sails.

She drags me along

in her wake, ever waking

never resting, lest I miss

the tether snapping and

a long drift into darkness.

Perhaps it would be better

to sail alone on my appleseed,

drink cider made from seawater

and list into insanity. Perhaps I should

cut the tether, fade The Apple

from my eye, and embrace

the long dark

every part of my heart,

played it's strings

to a heavy metal melody.

You turned around, plucked

every chord until those strings

broke, left traces of lead in my aorta

left my ventricles laced with steel,

I want a soft heart again.

Come back and strip the iron

from my chest, play my heart strings

a little softer, let my love play along

from limestone and clay,

and watched as the tide

washed it away. I built

a house, a garden by the bay,

you did not love

my unsprouted marigolds,

you did not grow anything

in my garden beds.

I scorched the soil, I tilled

the earth, and spread salt.

I teared down the walls of the home

that I built until the waves broke

Floating, like a dream, only not a dream. Maybe a nightmare.

Storms brew in distant lands, to tell me I'm in a heart load of trouble again. If it bends I will bend. If it breaks, Even a crack, Shatter.
