Okay I want to talk about this scene. It absolutely breaks my heart that Henry had no idea he was a senior and still thought he had another year to go. How do you get so caught up in something that everything else about your life completely falls apart?

How do you let a mask take over you, burying your own personality and leaving only a shadow of who you used to be?

And you can see how hard it was for Charlotte to break the news to him, tell him he isn’t graduating. And she didn’t tell him until now, with a week left, and absolutely nothing he can do about it. Or maybe she tried, and he didn’t listen. And he’s just mindblown. An entire year of his life slipped by him without him even realizing, and now he’s not graduating high school because of Kid Danger.

I can’t imagine how out of control he’d feel right then. There’s nothing he can do about it. And now he’s facing 40 plus years as a sidekick to Captain Man if nothing changes. Henry hadn’t even realized how caught up in heroing he was until it was too late and the damage had been done. Not having a social life, being kind of vacant from his family, that’s all fixable. But not graduating high school? That’s not fixable, and he has to live with that, live with the fact that he neglected school enough that he ruined his last chance at being normal.

And you can see how much it’s affecting him, even right after being told. He’s realizing that his friends are all leaving him and he’s going to be stuck in Swellview alone. You can practically see the storm raging in his head, endless questions and no answers. And he doesn’t even know how to react because he’s spent the last six years being tough and not letting himself feel.
