For our second trip to Baguio for a wedding, we had the chance to stay at Baguio Country Club. Yay!
Baguio Country Club is one of the oldest and most well-known places in the city. It was established in 1905 and has kept its classic and peaceful charm through the years. The property is surrounded by pine trees and wide green spaces, with beautiful views of its 18-hole golf course. The moment we arrived, we immediately felt that we were in a quieter and more relaxing part of Baguio.
The rooms were comfortable and perfect for the cold weather. Waking up there felt different from waking up in the city. Instead of hearing traffic and feeling the usual rush, we woke up to fresh air, cool mornings, and peaceful surroundings. The club also has several restaurants, recreational facilities, function rooms, and European-inspired cottages.
It was the kind of place that made us want to stay in bed a little longer and enjoy the slow start to the day.
What made this trip truly special, however, was the company. We came to Baguio to celebrate the wedding of our friends, and staying at Baguio Country Club gave us more time to be together. We shared meals, laughed over simple stories, took many photos, and enjoyed the cold weather. Life has become busy for all of us, so moments like these now feel even more valuable.
Seeing our friends get married also made the trip more emotional for me. It still feels surreal to watch the people we grew up with enter a new stage of their lives. We used to talk about school, work, and our plans for the future. Now, we are attending each other’s weddings and watching those plans slowly become real.
Our Baguio wedding experience officially began with a welcome dinner at Le Chef at The Manor. Surrounded by pine trees and the cold evening air of Camp John Hay, the restaurant felt warm, elegant, and inviting. The buffet had so many choices, including unlimited steak, chicken, and a colorful sushi platter. I also enjoyed the make-your-own pasta station, where we could choose our preferred ingredients and sauce. My favorite part was the fresh Baguio strawberries served with warm chocolate fondue. The strawberries were sweet and slightly sour, while the chocolate made every bite richer and more comforting. It was a simple dessert, but it felt perfect for the cold Baguio weather.
Tomorrow is the big day and we can't wait to join our friends celebrate this once in a lifetime event!
