I am a 24 year old future Iowa transplant to Chicago. As much as my occasional fustian leanings demand that I write Iowa off as a cultural wasteland and culinary gutter, I wouldn't trade my prologue for anybody else's. I have my small town roots and a stellar group of family/friends to thank for imbuing me with a certain humble appreciation and unwavering curiosity for all aspects of this wonderful little thing we call Earth. I'm always in search of the next adventure; the next drink; the next bite. I have held a lifelong affinity for food in all its various forms, forever upholding the belief that compassion for one's culture begins with compassion for their cuisine. I am particularly fascinated with the explosion of the craft beer and microbrewing industries. There is no distance too far when I am seeking the perfect pint. I'm your run of the mill film, food and fine beer slut, and I needed a city with an appetite as big as mine to help inscribe the first chapter of what I hope is to become my very own magnum opus.
