      Leave it to Goku to stumble upon someone tough even when he isn’t actively looking for a fight. Of course he couldn’t stay away after seeing something like that. Who do you think he is? As soon as he gets close, he crouches to meet the little guy at eye level. All while that excitable grin never leaves his face. Makes you wonder which one of them is the child here, doesn’t it?

            ❝ Whaddya say? Wanna go a round? ❞

           "  ---?  ”

gaze switches, that concentrated frown on his face fading away as brown eyes laid their attention on the approaching presence. he placed down his fists, relaxing muscles to turn his body towards the man before him. he looks strong. a childish interest and curiosity, filled brown eyes, accompanied by the emotion of having such an offer coming from someone who looked like a challenge.

    that noise was repeated, the explorer laying on the ground like a child - rolling side to side, as well. he was hungry, dammit, and had yet to find food! what, was this game place gonna starve them!?

           anyone could've kept walking, ignoring the sight of a boy rolling on the floor and whining. yet, reacting in a caring manner was a deep rooted trait in gon. he stands near them, out of their way to not interrupt their movements, and leans in forward.

       ❛   how incredibly disappointing.   ❜

         『 awww, don’t leave! i was just playing around! 』

    somehow she seems genuinely distraught that he didn’t play along right away, in spite of giving no prior warning to a complete stranger who had every reason to believe she could be hostile– c’est la vie, right? she scoots forward again, not half as close as before, waving to him with a glittery manicured hand.

       『 je suis desole! i got so excited– you’re             the first somebody i’ve seen for miles! 』

       " ah -- ! "

      his body clearly relaxes a bit as they talk, brown irises locked onto his attacker. yet he is still wary, even if their appearance is reminiscent of one of his nen teacher's, the vibe he could feel emanating from them reminded him of someone who was the complete opposite .  .  .  

        “ gon ! ”

 the sound of the familiar voice triggers an instant response from killua; lips twitch upwards  and eyes flicker with delight at the sight of him. a feeling of joy overcomes him as he rushes  to his friend’s side, eager to catch up on whatever he’s missed due to the unexpected separation.

“ how’d things go on your end ?” 

         " just after i arrived they pulled me into some kind of arena with another player! and it looks like we can't use nen inside here .  .  .  "
