Composition studies are really satisfying! I feel like I'm finally starting to get a hang on colour and light! Definitely going to do more of these in my free time.

This challenge was incredibly tedious but to my surprise I did not find it boring at all despite having to draw hands over and over and over again! I found myself drawing a lot faster and a lot more confident later into the challenge, though i may or may not have developed a hand fetish from this one...Next challenge, feet maybe?

Character Line Up of this D&D series. I had a lot of fun designing these characters. Although I didn't have that much time to go through the process of exploring different costumes, weapons or many poses, I had a great time designing these characters nevertheless. I love how I've experimented and discovered different workflows throughout this project and honestly, although it is far from the level that I would love to present, I do have to admit that this is the level of my skills at this very moment. I would love to revisit this project when my skills have improved in the future.

Final Year Personal Project DnD Project- The F*ck Ups Character Description: Howard The Dwarf (M), he has red long hair, and red braided beard. He wears explorer clothing and is obssessed with axes. You could always find him polishing and taking good care of his axes. He, together with Elik is a couple and therefore I gave them similar color palettes.

Final Year Personal Project DnD Project- The F*ck Ups Character Description: Elik(F)- Human Rogue, deep red long hair, skinny and tall build and carries around dual long daggers. She and Howard the Dward are a couple, therefore I gave her braids and similar colour palettes as Howard.

Character Description: Rhiannon (F)- Human Mage, a girl who has a secret royal identity so I gave her a more elegant image. She has long blue/teal hair so I decided to make that the primary colour of the character.

Character Description: Garus (M)- High Elf Barbarian. He's considered fit and buff for a barbarian, and is the tallest of the party. Instead of the typical barbarian type characters who are extremely muscular, I was told that the character would be leaning more towards lean and fit, so I went with that, and giving him a more elegant vibe as a high elf, however rough as a barbarian.

Final Year Personal Project DnD Project- The F*ck Ups Character Description: Diablo (M)- dark elf mage. With purple skin, you would think that he would stand out the most, but unfortunately he was blessed with a tiny and short figure. He has dark hair and red eyes, and prefers to wear dark clothing. He is known to be greedy and cunning, his eyes would sparkle at the sight of coins or treasures. He carries a magic sword around as his primary weapon.

And this just makes me realise how much often I draw portraits rather than environments because all these are definitely made a month or two ago, or even longer :/ 

Hopefully I’m allowed to post the most random paintings I did that I’m happy with over here. And yes, I’m basic like that and I like painting portraits. 

Character concepts that I’m not super proud of. Main character is a young boy in early university days who is disabled since his childhood. He is depicted as a 2000s gamer boy. Clothing is based on 2000s trends- baggy shirts and trousers (and baggy eyes because he’s sleep deprived lelel)

We decided to go with Set 05 and here are my sketch-overs, colours, materials and lightings based on 2 different scenarios. 

For this one, I removed the walls from the kitchen (Set 04), making it an open kitchen, therefore making it more spacious than before, and the player would be able to see the ‘goals’ more clearly (which are the mother and baby brother). 

I also changed the entrance from the end of the hallway to right next to the living room as it feels more natural and it flows better.

This is sorta a merge of Living Room of Set 02 + Kitchen of Set 03 but hmmmmmm

The purpose for building out all these variations in 3D is so I could import them into Unreal Engine to test out the flow and the scale of the rooms. For this one I tried out an open kitchen for larger space, and since they’re a trend in the 2000s I thought yeah! it works, why not!
