Summary:

When your own mind is the most dangerous place where you can be, salvation seems impossible. But within the walls of Woodheaven, among therapy sessions, breakdowns, and sleepless nights, they find something they never expected – each other. Six patients, one group, and maybe, just maybe, a chance for a new life.

Inspiration comes at the most inconvenient moments.

And for some reason I immediately thought of them (friendship is a kind of relationship too):

Dylan is definitely the Sun. He’s bright, warm, and incredibly magnetic. But if you get too close, you can get burned. And if you look at him for too long, you can go blind. People like Dylan freely share their uncontrollable energy, charging others with it, but around them it’s too easy to lose yourself. And unfortunately, they pose more danger to themselves than to others.

Audrey is, of course, the Moon. She’s quiet, distant, and slightly cold. Like the Moon, she doesn’t fully have her own light—her glow only appears when there’s someone else nearby. Hence her self-doubt: without external support and approval, she seems to fade, unaware of her own worth. And just as the Moon cannot stray far from the Sun, Audrey doesn’t know how to truly be alone.

And then the question arises: who is Tyler, if he is neither Sun nor Moon? He is a star. A star doesn’t depend on another source of light like the Moon, and it doesn’t burn as intensely as the Sun. But most importantly, it holds itself together. Any star exists because its own gravity compresses it inward, while internal pressure and energy prevent it from collapsing. In the same way, Tyler holds everything inside, making incredible efforts not to fall apart. A star exists on its own, and maybe that’s why Tyler is the loneliest of the three.

Right now I’m writing about a mental health clinic and I cover a lot of psychology topics (including PTSD, eating disorders, depression, etc.), so I’ve had plenty of interesting searches.

I decided to check how many times I’ve used different words in my story, for example:

A strong urge to edit the first chapters of your story.

Sanyeol: I have my own ideas about love, but I’m not really interested in relationships. By the way, I’ve never been in a serious relationship, and I don’t think I even want one…

Tyler just shows up, snorts, smirks, and rolls his eyes.

Sanyeol: Oh my God.

Fear of accidentally stealing an idea from another book, fanfic, etc.

Tyler and Alison sit in the kitchen, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. Alison rests her chin on her hand thoughtfully, watching her brother. Tyler takes a sip of hot tea, raising an eyebrow.

"What?"

"I’m thinking."

"That’s unexpected."

"Shut up," Alison scoffs. "Answer my question. Would you still love me if I were a rock?"

Tyler rolls his eyes.

"What kind of stupid question is that?"

He stands up, about to leave, and Alison hurries after him.

"So, would you or not?"

"I’m not even going to answer that. Go to sleep."

Several years later.

Feeling embarrassed when looking back at your original character concepts.

My character is in a mental health clinic where there are fairly clear and strict rules:

Dylan: What do you mean I can’t have my phone?

Dylan: And I can’t smoke? Even regular cigarettes? And no weed either?

Dylan: I have to take pills and follow a schedule? This is such bullshit.

Procrastination and the feeling of guilt when you miss deadlines.

Tyler: aggressive, traumatized, caring.

Justin: sad, kind, strong.

Maya: stubborn, jealous, protective.

Audrey: gentle, light, melancholic.

Victor: sweet, caring, wise.

Ingrid: cheerful, bright, unnoticed.

Dylan: secretive, gentle, kind.

Sanyeol: caring, confident, reliable.

Alison: caring, gentle and dead.

Feeling guilty when you have to cut scenes.
