I love getting emails from the Women's Running team asking me if I would like to shoot for them — I always know it’s going to be a fun shoot and this month's cover was just that. They asked me to photograph transgender runner Amelia Gapin and I knew exactly where I wanted this shoot to take place; the Brooklyn Bridge and the park below. It's a perfect location to mix in the urban environment with a sense of space.
Amelia was an amazing subject and as most people know, my favorite saying is "One more shot!" which in reality means about 100 more. She put up with a super early call time of 5AM so we could get the morning light and have the bridge not full of tourists. All in all it was a great morning and we made some amazing photos. Thank you Amelia for your courage!
The Red Hook Crit bike race was last weekend in Brooklyn and I decided to head down to the neighborhood to take some images of the race. Check out the full photo story on my website!
Well this is a hard post. I moved to NYC in 2008 and my first internship was at Fast Ashleys Brooklyn I spent 6 months there. In that time I gained a NYC family that without them who knows where my career would be. Thank you @fastashleysbk for all that you do. The new space will be great! But it will be hard to walk down North 10th for along time.
I was in Phoenix, Arizona a few weeks back and had the chance to photograph professional baseball player, Trevor Reckling.

“Kobe Bryant’s Muse” is the most amazing documentary I have watched in a long time. It is full of so much passion and heart. Watching Bryant’s highs and lows, his struggle and success was such a crazy thing to watch. This quote in the beginning resonated with me throughout the whole documentary so much so that I had to go back and find it again. I scanned back to the start of the film and happened to get right back to the exact place in one click. Feeling very inspired after watching this documentary!
"A morning with @jrfphoto at @driftstudionyc.“ — thanks, @thisismaxwhite, for the video on set!
I am super stoked that this Fall has been so warm! It’s allowed me to get outside and make some great photos with some awesome people. These images of Ugo were a model test before he was signed by the fitness division at Wilhelmina NYC!

I originally met Hope during a photo shoot for a fitness campaign and we hit it off so well, we made plans to get in the studio the following week and make some photos together. It was such a pleasure to work with somebody so inspiring and motivated to make great images!
I photographed Shane Larkin of the Brooklyn Nets (formerly of the New York Knicks) this past August. It was amazing to hear how happy he was playing for a new team that fits his athletic style. The weather was beautiful that day and we were able to get out of the studio and shoot some images overlooking the Manhattan skyline, which made it even more memorable since this is his first 2015 season playing for the Nets!
It’s been a while ya’ll... sorry for the quietness! These images of Rebecca were shot back in July. And after an entire summer of helping my (now) wife finish up wedding plans (yes - we just recently got hitched! more pictures to come...) that means more love on the blog. Hope everyone had a great summer!
I want to thank Erica Jean Schenk for being such a wonderful model and Erin Douglas for being such an amazing Art Director! The August issue of Women’s Running hits newsstands next week — be sure to go out and get your own copy!

I had the opportunity to photograph Karlee Malone a couple of months ago. Everyone on set had a great day together and we came away with some really nice shots!
It’s June!!! It’s been a busy time photo-wise for me, which is great but sadly means less time for weekly blog posts. I’m trying to get back into it with summer around the corner! Here are some recent tears from the past month — Enjoy!
