Auckland: Around and About
Located on the North Island, Auckland is the most populous city in New Zealand. There was plenty to see from the Auckland Harbor Bridge to the Sky Tower. For families there is the Auckland Zoo and SeaLife Aquarium. There are also beautiful parks to explore. The main park that most people go to is called Auckland Domain. However, don’t be afraid to go exploring into the less touristy areas. My family and I ended up finding the most peaceful and beautiful parks this way.
Best Cafe in Auckland: Best Ugly Bagels
The name is unique and so is the food! This cafe was pleasant and delicious. Not only was the food prepared very quickly, but the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxing. A perfect environment to enjoy a delicious brunch.
Located a few hours outside of Auckland, Hobbiton was raging with tourists from all across the world. Some people were major Lord of The Rings nerds and others were just there to explore. Hobbiton had some of the most breathtaking landscapes. The greenery never seemed to end. I highly recommend visiting Hobbiton even if you’re not a huge fan of the movies simply to appreciate some of the natural beauty that New Zealand has to offer.
Queenstown: Thrill Capital of New Zealand
Queenstown, located on the South Island, was hands down the most beautiful city that we went to in New Zealand. The waters were crystal blue and the mountains were majestic. One of the best ways to take in all of the natural beauty is from the air especially from the airplane when landing and taking off form Queenstown.
Bungee Jumping and other Thrilling things to do:
Not only does Queenstown offer breathtaking scenery, it also offers a variety of activities. My family and I did the Shotover Jet ride. It was a high speed boat that went dangerously fast through the gorges of a river. The ride is known for how fast it goes and how close it gets you to the rocks. Although the Jet ride was fun, I decided that I wanted something a bit more daring. So, I bungee jumped off of the Kawarau Bridge (43 meters – 141 feet). It was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m glad I did it.
Best Cafe in Queenstown: Cafe Society
Cafe Society was a lovely cafe offering a variety of foods, all of which were healthy. Their coffee was great and the ambiance was serene.
Christchurch: An Escape from the Crowd
Christchurch, a 5-6 hour drive from Queenstown, was a very laid back part of New Zealand. Not too much happening. There weren’t too many people. This was just what we needed after a jam packed trip of non stop driving and exploring. We took this opportunity to relax a bit while still exploring the things that Christchurch had to offer. Our favorite was the botanical gardens due to its simple yet satisfying appeal.
Best Cafe in Christchurch: Laneway Espresso

Laneway Espresso was a quaint cafe yet its food and drinks were phenomenal.It was fresh and inviting. It was by far my favorite cafe in New Zealand.
Conclusion: New Zealand was by far one of my favorite trips. The people were extremely genuine. The landscapes were breathtaking. I loved everything about it. There was a nice balance between thrill, exploring and relaxing. I highly recommend New Zealand to anyone wanting an unforgettable adventure!
