I remember seeing the trailer for this and liking the concept, but I never got around to go see it in theaters. Now, a year later, I’m in bed and find out it’s on Hulu.

This is a solid little movie. The cast works. Anne Hathaway does a good job, for the most part. Jason Sudekis really stole the show for me. The slow burn and switch of his character really paid off. I also really liked the realization that Anne Hathaway’s character went through to find the monster.

It’s also a good looking film. Most shots have a clean look and nice color palette. And, surprisingly, the creature effects were well done. For a budget of 15 million, the cgi looked pretty good. Better than some blockbuster cgi I’ve seen recently.

I have to say that the final act felt really odd. The “origin story” of the monsters didn’t work for me. And also the fight scene between Sudekis and Hathaway in the house was too over the top. Which blows because the earlier “fight scenes” were super subtle and felt much more real.

I liked the story, the actors, the creatures, and the creativity most of all. It has a nice vibe.

It was announced that Black Panther will begin filming in January 2017. Also, Michael B. Jordan was revealed to be playing Erik Killmonger, a classic villain of Black Panther.

An exclusive Hall H clip was shown for Thor: Ragnarok, which featured Gladiator Hulk, Hela and Surtur. A clip from the set of Ragnarok gave a brief glimpse of Hulk’s gladiator armor.

Both Tom Holland and director, Jon Watts, came on stage for Spider-Man: Homecoming. An interesting note: Watts said Homecoming was taking place on “the ground level of the Marvel Universe”. Hmm. Yet another exclusive Hall H teaser was shown and (apparently) featured the Vulture.

During the Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 portion, Pom Klementieff was revealed to be playing Mantis and Kurt Russell was announced as Ego, Star Lord’s Father.

Wow. What a panel.

Just for the record, I’ll be only talking about the DC portion of the Warner Bros. film panel. They released some other cool stuff but I choose to fanboy over the DC news.

Alright, let’s begin...

I really appreciate how all the upcoming directors were brought out and shown recognition first. I think it’s a nice show of unity between all the different productions.

The (hopefully) final trailer for Suicide Squad featuring original music featured in the movie, plus a little mention of Hall H for Comic-Con purposes, was shown.

The first full-length trailer for Wonder Woman was premiered. The trailer showed a beautiful color palette, some epic action scenes and a little bit of humor which is vital moving forward in the DC Extended Universe.

On top of the “Special Footage” (and it was, indeed, special), DC showed off a beautiful, HD picture of the full Justice League. 

It’ll be interesting to see if Marvel can top or even compete with this monster of a panel. DC has me more excited than ever before for things to come.

Today, during the Agents of SHIELD panel, Marvel announced that Ghost Rider will play some role in the upcoming SHIELD season. Alongside the announcement, they released a promo picture, a (so far) exclusive clip for attendees of the panel and the actor who will portray the character.

Just some clarification for you...

The Ghost Rider they’re adapting for the show will be the Robbie Reyes character instead of the Johnny Blaze character.

Reyes was a Hispanic mechanic (heh.) who gets a hold of a car possessed by a ghost, which was being sought out by a secret agency. Once the agency finds him; they kill him. However the ghost car likes Robbie so it decides to bring him back to life.
