Thanks to On Being's kristatippett, I was recently turned on to the musings of sethgodinblog. At first, I wasn't sure that it was much more than self help-y mumbo jumbo but as I read, and read (I was on #juryduty) I found myself enthralled by his simple, direct wisdom. In particular, I was struck by his insistence that I don't need a resume (http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2008/03/why-bother-havi.html) but that I might build an online presence myself. So I'm back on tumblr, telling you the best thing that happened today. Inspired by Seth, I forwarded his chat with Debbie Millman (http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2014/05/20/seth-godin-debbie-millman-interview/) to a friend in a minor existential crisis. I didn't know how she'd react, and I'm used to people ignoring the many bits of advice I forward to them. (I get it, I send a lot...) But this morning, I woke up to: 'Jake. I cried. Thank you for being so amazing you're the best! Love you!!' And in the midst of a week of endless jury duty and final papers, that was the best thing that happened today.
