Welcome to Worcester’s Newest Neighborhood
This is an image of the original tour pamphlet of Plumley Village during its grand opening in 1970 where “fine features” referred to the new amenities such as kitchens, and most importantly recreation and landscape. I use this image to captivate the emphasis on the greenery and how they appear “fine” and fundamental aspects of living. Yet, my exhibition will attempt to critically analyze the extent to which these green spaces have, or have not supported a sense of community as advertised by this image.
