I think one of the crackiest fics I've ever written (but not finished nor published) was a LOTR/Star Wars crossover, where the army of the dead was the Jedi order. Obi-Wan got stuck in Middle Earth and met Elendil, and he promised the help of the Jedi for his battle against Sauron, but all the events of the films happen and the Jedi can't go. So, the ones Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas meet are the Force projections of the Jedi, Anduril is a lightsaber, the "King of the dead" is Palpatine, and Aragorn kills his spectral form. Also, there was a burning tent
And a cracky fic I've published would be You dropped your bear, where Brienne and Jaime meet à la Izumi and Sig Curtis before the books happen

Gwendoline Christie was a guest on "A Matter of Fragrance with Bella Freud". She talked about the importance and power of scents and this excerpt about Brienne struck me because that's exactly how I imagine her too.
- "So with each character that you play, do you choose a scent for that character to have continuity?" - "I don't always, but often the character will choose it. You know, when I think about some of the kind of characters I played like Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones was very much about sweat and the gorgeous smell of earth, maybe just after it rains. You know, the earth releases a particular odour. It's really, really specific. I always feel that's where she sort of lived. There's something about the scent of brass and metal of the sword, of all the armour that she wore as well. So that was present. That wasn't something I was having to bring to it."

What always gives fake ASOIAF leaks away to me is how little they care about Brienne as a character in her own right. Without fail, they write her as if she is filler. As if she exists only to move someone else’s story along. And that alone is enough to make me dismiss them, because Stoneheart is not just Jaime’s story. It is Brienne’s too. Their entire situation there is driven because of what both of them have been through, separately and together. It grows naturally out of their arcs from the very beginning: their individual journeys, yes, but also the way those journeys have become deeply bound up in each other.
But these leaks never engage with that. They always reduce Brienne and sideline her, or treat her as narratively expendable, because they fundamentally do not see her as a character with her own purpose, her own weight, her own arc. Much less as someone who plays a crucial role in Jaime’s.
That is always how I know they are nonsense. The day I see a “leak” that actually takes Brienne seriously - even if it’s something I don’t like or not where I’d take her story forward - then maybe I will believe there is a chance it is real.
