Yeah he never really coached many elites outside of Nastia, Bross, and then Katelyn who he only had for like 2-3 years. People always say HIS TRACK RECORD ISN’T GOOD but like, one of his three was Olympic champ, one is a world medalist, and the other could’ve been a world or Olympic champ if she wasn’t mentally and physically over it. A lot of people blamed Valeri for Bross doing the Patterson but she told me that she wanted to do that dismount and when he told her to switch to something easier, she was like NO BITCH because she’s stubborn. And the other argument is that he pushed Katelyn’s difficulty too soon but she brought a lot of her skills with her from GAGE, and the super high difficulty was only really on beam, and she handled that better than she handled her easier routines on other events (and that said, most coaches push too early…she’s not the only example of a kid mentally or physically burning out before 2016). I think he’ll be great, everyone seems to really like him (coaches and athletes), and he’s done a great job with the developmental kids. It’ll be good to see them kind of grow up with him, since they’ve been with him since they were like 8 at this point.

After winning gold at the 2011 Tokyo World Championships, and silver at the 2012 London Olympics, McKayla Maroney successfully defended her title as vault world champion at the 2013 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, with a combined two-vault score of 15.724. McKayla managed to make a comeback to gymnastics after numerous injuries, the most serious being a fractured tibia, months after competing in the Olympics. The 2013 Antwerp World Championships would later be her last competition, capping off her successful elite career as a two-time vault champion.

I am thoroughly scared for the mental health of the upcoming girls and I have a feeling that they won’t be as successful due to this. 

I may be wrong. It could be another factor. But hopefully you’re right.
