Card: try to make metal feel it through things that exist in the present time all but making mephiles enjoy the present day too when previously he struggled to wish and want to go to back before he was split from iblis to be remembered is a constant downfall for mephiles as a theres a chance not one person will recall him once he comes back but neo can relate to that due to the memory of himself seemingly disappearing to all of the cast, even his own inventor when found out possibly that someone else remembers like silver or sonic it can be defended by neo that like eggman they did not say anything further deepening the wound and revealing the heroes are not as kind as they seem as they would let a victim to such unfortunate events go unnoticed and stand by and just watch his misery also neo would be like the absolute weirdest thing to rest your head against because he is literally just 100% steel so to have mephiles just decide hes a good pillow and just clang down to rest on him sounds really funny so yeh

Card: its neo metal sonic, the copy of sonic made solely to destroy him by eggman, that had his memory erased into solely metal sonic once more once he became close to his goal of defeating said hedgehog being shipped with a forcibly split half of a time deity, Mephiles, whos other half, Iblis, had been ripped away from him and sealed by Blaze and can never be given back, he was inflicted on these pains by the people who used to worship him, so he decided to betray them but got deleted from the main timeline by having his past whole being, Solaris, being blown out by Sonic and Elise the worshippers princess, but it was canonized that he had been frozen in a white space in all that time when he was brought back to fight Shadow by a time worm and that he really just wanted to be remembered by someone only for Shadow, the said person he was fighting for the last possible time ever unless somehow being unerased again, to be completely clueless as to who he is
