"Doc, I know you don’t like our new home very much but, it doesn’t mean you’re allowed to run away." He smiled up at you. "Thanks for catching him, I didn’t think I was going to him back."

"I think Doc and my roommate's cat would get along nicely, they both appear to have a thing for trouble." She laughed lightly, scratching behind the cat's ear. "Not a problem, and he's so cute I was a little tempted to keep him."

He smiled, glad he’d guessed correct, but his face fell nearly as soon as it’d brightened. “I was gathering inspiration for some Halloween-y choreo.” he tilted his head, trailing his fingers absently along the top of a headstone as he approaches her, a little more carefully. “What are you…” he stops, his eyes flicking to the names around him. He shakes his head. “I don’t know your last name, J.” he whispered, more to himself than to her. “I.. was at the dance studio. I’ve been in hyperdrive. Plus the Nutcracker is in December, and that’s coming up fast.” he nodded, trying to figure out what she could possibly be doing there, if there was no morbid connotation. He frowned a little more deeply, “What… were you?”

She looks at him, and shrugs, her expression still warm. "Isn't Halloween in like two months? You have plenty of time to find some spooky ideas, but I get it. Good thing this place is walking distance from campus." Jacy nodded, a little enthusiastically, thinking how fun the upcoming holiday will be.  "Oh, right! You've probably been practicing like crazy. When you have a day off be sure to find me, okay? We can relax together." She remembers how she hadn't told her friend about her mother, then again nothing came up where she could drop a bomb like that to Kai, her smiles turns sad. "Seeing my mother," she gestures to the tombstone in front of her, "school kept getting in the way before."

"No no no no-" Aleksis wobbled before falling face-first onto the ice. Groaning, he rolled over and glared from his place on the ground. 

"Wait, wait, wait--!" Jacy attempted to reach out for him but already Aleksis had hit the ground. She covers her mouth and suppresses a giggle after her friend was down, eventually offering him her left hand. 

"Maybe, but at what price Jacy? I’m so white I’m probably allergic to moonlight. Do I really wanna risk my life for this?" All joking aside he nodded and shrugged, looking up at her and squinting through the glare of the sun. "Well technically, I have enough sun screen in places I can reach. So yeah. I would suppose."

"You're exaggerating, you aren't that terribly white." She bit her bottom lip and chuckled. "If you get just the right amount of sun it's really good for your skin however, think of it that way." Jacy notices his squinting and sits down next to him, offering the boy her sunglasses. "That's good! Can't have you leaving here like a lobster."

Jade wasn’t one to visit her mother very often. The only reason she’d give herself for this was because she was busy. She was either working, studying, in school, or had plans. Therefore, her visits to her mother’s grave ever since her first few years in San Francisco had gone down significantly. But today, a couple of weeks before classes start again, she had absolutely nothing to do, and the memory of her mother haunted her mind, so she thought it wouldn’t hurt to pay her a visit. Give her a massive update like she had when she first arrived to San Francisco. 

When the woman had first passed away, Jacy had made it a point to visit her every day. Gradually, the trips got easier as that's how coping usually worked. Nowadays she made sure she was able to go by once every two weeks, determined to not let her studies or volunteer time get in the way, and she managed it well enough. It didn't feel right to just stop, not when her mother meant the world to her. She'd accepted her death a long time ago, this was for comfort.

Kai had gotten bored of his usual hang out on the quad, and decided he needed a dark change of pace. Halloween was coming up, and that meant he was inspired to choreograph something a little darker. What better place than the cemetery? He ran his fingers along one of the double headstones, studying a mausoleum in the distance, before a familiar voice reached his ears. 

Whereas most would stray away from graveyards, Jacy spent hours there talking to her mother. It made her feel content, if anything, and relaxed her in a way. Often she'd sit there and talk about what she had for breakfast to pouring her heart out. She felt safe, like the feeling being in the hospital gave her. The brunette knew people could find a habit like that unsettling, so it wasn't something she usually brought up. 

He smiled back weakly, irritation slipping out of him the moment he saw Jacy and being replaced with something else. “The only light my skin knows is lamplight. The paleness isn’t just for show, y’know.”

Jacy relaxed as she sense his mood softened, as she did feel genuinely bad for disturbing him. She knew the boy wasn't one for a big beach party like this. "Maybe it's not that bad if you get a bit of color, not that I mind how you usually look. I hope you're wearing lots of sunscreen too."

"My class seriously have my boys to thank for the free pass they were given. Next time I have to remember not to grade papers at the kitchen table when they’re both throwing a tantrum. Couldn’t even read half of them from all the coffee that got spilled so I just gave everyone an A. "

"Good for your students, not so much for you I guess. I'm sorry to hear they give you such a hard time, but that's kids for you, right? They somehow make it worth it though." Jacy thinks back to how rowdy the children can be when she does volunteer time at the hospital and for class.

          “I care about you plenty without the fighting. Please… this whole thing was was fucking exhausting. Not making it a habit, thanks.” At the kiss Mav couldn’t help but grin, big and stupid. “Hugs then.” And holding her close, swaying slightly by the doorway, Mav couldn’t help but think: never again. Because he’d had plenty of fights. Physical, verbal—but this had been one of the worst. “You know how bad this whole thing was on me? I wrote poetry. Don’t ask for them. I burned them all.”

"I care about you too Rickie, so much. And, just know that I'm here for you. Okay? I don't want you thinking otherwise because I mean it. No matter what." The guilt and sadness Jacy had been feeling evaporated as she smiles sweetly to him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder and giving him a squeeze. There was no way to describe the relief she was feeling, and she stifles a giggle. "Poetry, huh? I didn't take you for that kind of guy. I'm sure I would have loved whatever you wrote."

          “Like I was gonna let you say no. You’re the Pumba to my Timon. The Vanellope to my Ralph.”

"You're just lucky I can't say no to you. Aw, really Rickie? You're the Stitch to my Lilo! The Flounder to my Ariel. Now stop being such a guppy and sing with me." 

"I like their fries," he defended himself. "And the chicken nuggets." Aleksis could probably live off fast food, which he used to, but he still hated greasy pizza. McDonald’s was probably his guilty pleasure. "Uh, heck off Herms, you probably don’t even watch TV. You know what you should do, though? Next time I watch a cannibalism documentary you should make like, gingerbread cookies. And then share them, obviously, so we can eat people. Plus, I doubt you can eat that much food."

"I can give you the fries, but the chicken nuggets is something I can't get over. Is that even chicken that they give you?" Jacy had never liked fast food, and her mother was always big on staying healthy. She'd never step foot in a place with so much grease. "Because television will turn your brain to mush! Look at the kids these days Newton. That's a bit twisted to think about, but I do like gingerbread. Let me know next time one is on and I'll make a batch. I could eat it if I put my mind to it! And if I wanted the world's worst stomach ache."

Senjyu’s eyebrows rose and she laughed in surprise. “Majide,” she whispered and then louder, “Really? I don’t know why I didn’t see it coming, though. It seems that most stereotypes about America really are true.”

"Yes, really." Jacy shrugged and laughed at the girl's surprise. "I mean, I'm happy we fooled you enough to think different. Not all of the stereotypes, just... Most of them. We aren't that bad."

"Annnd hesitating," Luke repeated with a smile. "Well, I don’t know. I can’t see your back. You might have taped that to your back or something," he chuckled. "Go all Black Widow on my ass," he added, and although he wasn’t one to curse or use expressions like that, he was having a good time and texting Amsterdam much too often. "Well, I’ll take this compliment because you’re basically on my team because you’ve got a model’s everything," he nodded, no longer pointing the water gun at Jacy.

"Thinking! I was thinking." Jacy smiles back and rolls her eyes back. "Oh yeah totally. I'm ready to whip them out at you any second now, and there's a third one in my hair." She winks to him. "Regimes fall everyday. I tend not to weep over that, I’m Russian." The brunette tries her best to shrug and look cool but there was the fact Jacy was not cool at all. "Why thank you, right back at'cha. We're going to be the best looking team I'm sure." She puts her hands down.

"Oh c’monn," Jade dragged the last word, unnecessarily so. "There’s no way a girl like yourself would ever fall for me," she explained, poking the girl’s nose for absolutely no reason. "So no broken hearts. Promise," and she finished with a military salute. The topic of Junie, however, made her both feel happy and uncomfortable. It was a weird mixture of emotions and the alcohol kept making her think Oh hey, talking about your feels ain’t that bad! No one’s gonna listen, anyway. And so she did the next best thing: being a smart ass. “Well, she’s…. small,” she nodded, her face concentrated. “Sassy, of course. She said she was literally made of sass, did you know that? It was kind of funny. I mean… I have her on my phone as Leprechaun, too,” and long pause. “How am I doing?”

"Oh c'monn yourself missy," Jacy imitated her friend's tone as her brows raised up. "What's that supposed to mean? I could very easily fall for you! I doubt it's really that hard." She scrunches up her face playfully after her nose is booped. "Of course, I'm not going to complain if the heartbreak is at a minimum. I'll just have to admire you from afar." She returns the salute and clasps her hands together as they begin to talk about Junie. Even if Jade was drunk, they couldn't avoid it forever. If she didn't think they could make each other happy than she wouldn't be bringing it up. "Small and sassy, I can't really think of better words to describe her." She grins. "You're doing fine! Is that all you think of her?"
