Jacob sighed. He didn’t expect it was this hard to explain. He looked up to her. A faint smile on his face won’t explain everything. “It was Leah..” he whispered softly. “Stubbornly she went to Italy and got caught by Caius.” His eyes wandering around, still hurts because of Leah and her stubborn acts. “Long story short, they found a way to turn Leah to human,” he said as he looked at her again. There was pain on his eyes, pain for losing his beta. “I just.. needed some times to recover. I lost my Beta, Fay.”
She could understand why he had stayed away for so long if he had lost her. Losing a beta, his second, would be incredibly difficult for him. “Do you still need time?” She asked after a long moment of silence. Despite the fact that he had a good reason, she was still hurt. No calls or texts, even though Leah had been in trouble, still didn’t sit well with her. “What are you going to do now that she’s gone?”
He looked at the girl beside him and smiled faintly, “Nothing I can do. I’ll just run the pack the way it is.” Jacob stood up, looking at the sky. He knew it was going to be troublesome running a pack without a Beta, but that was the right thing to do. He was the commander of his pack, and the rest of his pack were waiting for his command. “I think it was the best for Leah,” he continued as he shoved his hands to his pockets, “She was never really happy being a shapeshifter. You know her.” He smiled and walked to approach her. “How about you?” He asked him, taking her hands and kissing the back of her hands, “How are you?”
