Josieâs features lit up within amusement, âitâs kind of my mom and sisterâs thing. Thereâs a binder for everything â colour coded and usually covered in glitter tooâ she mused. âTheyâre very affective and⌠thorough.â Josie was vaguely aware of her motherâs past with Hayley, but it wasnât something that was really her business and she respected Carolineâs privacy, so she didnât want to push the subject any further than necessary. âI guess thereâs no time like the present to make amends, right? Iâm sure mom would be more than happy to help in any way that she could.â
With her digits returning to the straw in her milkshake, she began to twirl it around before taking a sip and listening to Jacksonâs words, subconsciously forming her own response. âThe school is home to so many kids that donât have anything waiting for them on the other side of the walls. I guess itâs a sad but honest truth and a little bit of recognition for the good that has been done, could really change a lot of kids lives. Or at least, I hope it can.â
.
âIâm guessing youâre not so big on the binders?â the question was accompanied with a smile, knowing heâd feel the same about it if Hayley was making glittery color-coded binders and trying to organize their lives that way.  âThatâs good to know, all the same - bet theyâve got a binder for just about anything I could want to know.â Jackson couldnât hide a smile at Josieâs suggestion, clearly seeing that the girl was a natural peacemaker.  âIâll gently suggest it - very gently, because the last thing I want to do is provoke an angry pregnant vampire, you know?â Sometimes he didnât have the greatest survival instinct, but he knew that much.
Her passion and the empathy for her fellow students were admirable things, and Jackson felt the wheels in his head turn a little as they spoke.  âI think you make a good point. I think itâs amazing, what your folks and Klaus accomplished setting this place up. But it seems like no one was thinking into the future, and what you all might do when you graduate.â
