āIt could have.ā Thereās a certain grimness in her tone that reflects just exactly what that worse could have been. She couldnāt lose another family member and it doesnāt bear thinking about that Jackson might have ended up in the Initiativeās hands. Once again her eyes drift over his injuries, making note of each and every one of them so she can take repayment for them tenfold when the time comes. Lia wasnāt usually one for violence, despite being good at dishing it out when it came down to it she never usually liked resorting to it. However, this was one of those rare times that she was itching to inflict some pain and injuries onto other. The rage and hatred sheās feeling wonāt accept anything else. āWeāll make them pay for it.ā And itās more of a vow than a statement.Ā Her gaze falls to his wrist.Ā āYou had that looked at yet?āĀ
Jackson nods his head. Even with the head injury and the dazed look to his face, he can agree to that. They will pay back every injury they sustained on the Initiative. The time for petty squabbles and in fighting was long since passed. They needed to focus their efforts on the Initiative. But all those thoughts were pushed to the back of his mind. In the moment, all he could do was nod his head in agreement and be glad that Lia was here, in front of him. That she was okay and he couldnāt get himself to let go of her hand. To make sure that wasnāt going to change any time soon.Ā āNo,ā he answers when she refers to his wrist.Ā
