The dogs? Adorable.  Addy loved animals, and dogs were that one thing that she believed were too good for humans, but she was so thankful that dogs were around.  It took everything in her to not go over to the dogs, but instead stand her ground.  He turned and everything came flooding back.  He hadn’t aged a day since he’d left California. His words were gravely, like he had just woken up, and it took her back to the quiet mornings they would share before they’d go their respective ways for the day.  She smiled when he said her name, and it honestly felt so surreal she was even here.  “Jack.”  She walked over to the seat and crossed her legs, her eyes dropping to the dogs before back up to him at his question.  “Well, it took long enough, but I… I got a job.  At Tupelo High.  Life was a little to busy and a little to..” She paused, knowing it had only been a few moments and not wanting tot go any further.  “How are the horses treating you?  You making any new Million Dollar Riders?”

Historically, Jack Dunn’s relationships ended where the other participating party was not in favor of Jack continuing to be at large in the community. Was this his fault? Only 98% of the time, yes. However, Addy and Jack had managed to end their relationship on a mutual agreement. California was for her, not him and in order for them to both continue with their own personal goals a split was the best they had to offer. “Oh, wow. Congratulations,” he offered as he moved back around the desk and sat down. “So you’re gonna be living here in Tupelo, huh?” He was still trying to wrap his brain around that concept. The cross-over of two parts of his life just felt unusual. “Good, good,” he chuckled, “Got one who could definitely make it there,” Jack added with a shrug. “Might be a few years still but...” His voice trailed off, his mind still preoccupied with Addy’s arrival. “So when did you get into town?”

CLOSED STARTER // @jacksdunnit​ It had been a while since Addy had been to a small town.  Well… Tupelo wasn’t exactly small, but it was no LA.  The sun wasn’t nearly as hot, her phone wasn’t blowing up with players and coaches needing her assistance, she wasn’t running around with a gallon of coffee in her hand, and everything was very… lax.  It was strange.  Addy felt it was the place to be, though.  The calmness that surrounded her felt normal and good. She felt like she was forgetting to do something, but she also had nothing to do for another week.  She didn’t start her new job until the following Monday, she was all moved into her apartment, her office was set up and the medical room at the high school had everything organized in a way that made sense to her.  She was settled into Tupelo, but things very unsettling.  She was forgetting something.

Addyson needed a car, and while that should be her top priority, something else was on her mind.  Someone else.  She moved to Tupelo because she felt the need and wanted to settle down.  LA life was crazy, and while she loved running around and being busy, she was 31 and she was still single.  Had been for quite some time, and she was ready to settle down.  Whether her reasoning for moving to Tupelo would be ready for the same thing was completely up in the air, but the pay was good, the cost of living was low, and they were close enough to cities that if she really truly hated it, she could bail and go somewhere else.  Shaking the hands of the car dealer, she smiled at his words.  “Congrats! You’re the new owner of our only Jaguar F-Type.  You’ll definitely get some talk around town.  We never thought we’d sell this baby.”  Addy laughed as she took the keys, “Well, I’ve always been a sucker for red and speedy.  I’ll buy a more practical vehicle soon, but mama’s gotta have her toys.  You wouldn’t happen to know how to get to Whiskey Hollow, I believe it’s called?”  Small town, indeed.  He knew exactly how to get her there.

The drive wasn’t far, not by her standards, anyway, but it definitely wasn’t in town.  It was busy, a lot busier than she expected.  Horses littered the grounds with people surrounding them, probably the busiest she’d seen any place thus far.  Parking her car, Addy walked towards a man surrounded by people, pointing them in different directions.  Just as he was about to walk off, Addy caught his attention.  “Hi, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to take too much time, but could you tell me where Jack is?”  He had a look on his face, but pointed her towards the stables.  She suddenly had butterflies and felt like she was going to vomit, but made her way over there.  She quickly realized her sundress and kitty heels combo wasn’t ideal and definitely made her stick out, but she wasn’t going to change her attire for a man.  Him of all people would know that.

The back of his head looked the same as it had 10 years ago, and she suddenly felt like she was 21, meeting him after one of his races.  Taking a breath, she knocked on the wood and slowly walked in, “I’m not sure if I’m in the right place, but I’m looking for the Million Dollar Rider and Lena. Could you point me in the right direction?”

Most days at Whiskey Hollow were  fairly busy, at least when Jack was doing his job correctly. During the mornings it was rather slow and was indeed peaceful... but in the afternoon? All bets were off. Between people coming to visit to do volunteer work with Lou’s side of the operation to those coming to see their horses or take lessons with Jack things were usually moving. Thankfully, Whiskey Hollow also employed a good handful of people to help out on their day to day operations. So there were other trainers there to teach the younger kids who were just starting out and then those working students who did stablehand work in exchange for training and boarding room at the property for their equine companions. 

Even though most days appeared horribly busy Jack had gotten used to it and so it felt fairly routine. Currently, most of the people who had arrived were doing work with Lou or were those who would be exercising horses. This was how he managed to stay holed up in his office for a hot minute. His back was to the door which made it appear that he was simply looking out the window. In reality, he was cat-napping in his chair. His dogs, on the other hand, were taking their respective naps on the couch that sat in the corner of the office. 

The knock on the semi-opened door caused his eyes to flutter open and he spun around in the chair. Her voice had not registered in his mind fast enough, but seeing her had. Jack was barely awake and instantly out of words as he stared at Addy as if he had just seen a ghost. “Holy shit,” were the only words that could fall from his mouth and he stood up. This caused both of his dogs to rise but deem that this interaction wasn’t interesting enough to remove themselves from their comfortable positions to swarm the person entering the room. “Addyson,” he took a moment to begin stuttering over himself and walked to the side of his desk. Motioning for her to take a seat. “What... uh, what... Wow. What are you doing here?”

Jane was aware of the favoritism Judah carried for his daughters and while she wasn’t one of his absolute favorites, she was still one of them. Some of the insults that she would direct toward her father had a lot to do with her disdain for his often strong presence. In her mind, feminism meant being above men because it was the only way that nature could correct the unfortunate course that it put women on in the first place. With that being said, she was unpleasant to most of the men in her family, some of them even shuddering at the mere mention of her name because of a famous verbal assault she’d thrust upon them at a family gathering. 

There was a soft, bitter chuckle leaving her nose as she placed her hands on her hips and gave her brother a once over. “Not only are you avoiding accusations which we both know are true, but now you’re just being plain rude..” her shoulders lifting into a shrug as she rolled her eyes and leaned against one of the wooden fixtures within the stables, smacking her lips together. “Now now, that’s no way to speak to your doting sister. I was coming to look for Lou so I could invite her over for dinner… have you seen her? I would invite you but my husband prefers we keep the house pets away from the dinner table.” her statement finished with the most sarcastic yet warm smile, hands leaving her lips to clasp together in a single clap.

“What is the point in actually confronting your baseless accusations when you don’t give a rat’s ass what the actual answer is?” Jack retorted. It wasn’t unlike Jane to hurl insults and accusations his way so he was never sure why he always fell for responding to them anyway. She could bring in every vet in the state and run drug toxicology screens on every one of his horses and wouldn’t find anything illegal. Why? Because he wasn’t doing anything illegal, no matter how many fingers she wanted to point. “Then why are you going?” He replied, “I didn’t know that ol’ Richard allowed pit vipers at the dinner table. Or are you an exception because you married him?”

Another eye roll flashed across her eyes, wanting to roll them straight back to her head as her brother’s name left Jack’s lips once more. “Got no reason to go and do that,” she shot back at him. “Mhm, right, just helpin’ you find these donkeys.” Her lips fell into a thin line at the thought, surely thinking that wasn’t all she wanted to happen but that was still to be determined. “Any other clue where they might have taken off too?” Her brow raised with the question, “I mean you really think they’ve wandered on down here? Wouldn’t we have heard some sort of commotion from people if they were?”

“This is where they were last time,” Jack replied with unnecessary confidence. The last time this had happened was, at a minimum, six months prior if not longer. They had ended up downtown and both he and Lou had received a million and one phone calls about the situation. Rightfully so. “I mean, look around... do these people seem all that invested in causin’ a fuss?” He asked before turning to look around the current state of downtown. “They’re probably in someone’s garden takin’ to a little bit of landscaping,” Jack added with a laugh. “I’m sure someone’s grandma is gonna be callin’ me about it in no time.” 

It was a surprise to him that they managed to go all that way, without someone stopping them. Maybe they were more dangerous than he thought, but then again, he never knew much about them, so wasn’t exactly a surprise that he wouldn’t have guessed that, “My guess is that they managed to go that far, because people were scared to try to stop them,” when you don’t know what you’re doing, you could really get hurt. He didn’t know how his donkeys were, but depending, if someone tried to stop them, they could end up getting hurt, their kick was probably as strong as a horse’s, rightw “I don’t think I have your number, but you could give it to me, and I could call you if I saw them,” he hoped he managed to catch them before they hurt someone or destroyed something.

Jack shrugged with casual indifference towards the reasoning behind not stopping the donkeys. He really didn’t have any argument with the reason because, well, it was a decent reason. For the most part these three were pretty docile but to those who were not familiar with the Whiskey Hollow animals they would just be three animals wandering the streets. “At least they’re small,” he offered. It wasn’t as if donkeys couldn’t be used as a guard animal and a kick or bite wouldn’t hurt... but they had a tendency to be a little less flighty than the horses. “Number should be on the bottom of that,” he said with a smile and pointed towards the card he had handed down. “Not sure we’ve officially met yet, though,” he continued and leaned down, stretching out a hand for a quick shake. “Jack Dunn.” 

Ayla wasn’t sure if what she’d seen was even real. At least until an hot cowboy turned up and asked about the animals. It was practically surreal and for a moment, she was worried that perhaps the mushrooms on the pizza she’d eaten that day had been of another variety. Her gaze coursed over the male, checking him out shamelessly. This wouldn’t happen twice in her lifetime so she may as well take the opportunity as it came. 

Dark hues flicked from him to the horse, slowly walking him to the side of the horses face, in full view, to touch its mane. “You don’t need to be quick when you’re this beautiful.” She said with a smile. Just as she was about to tell him that they probably didn’t get that far, she heard the last tail end of his comment. A wry grin was flashed in his direction as she placed her hands upon her hips. “Probably pretty far. I should get up there and give you an hand.” She tests slightly, even lifting her hand towards him so he can help hoist her up. 

"Oh, probably pretty far?” Jack asked then, peering down at Ayla as she stood with her hands on her hips. He found amusement in her actions as she lifted a hand towards him and kicked his foot out of the stirrup. “You sure?” He asked and extended an arm towards her to pull her up behind him. Fortunately, this was not Pork Chop’s first rodeo with Jack’s bullshit so the animal didn’t seem quite that moved by the situation at all and stood still, only sighing heavily as if he were rolling his eyes. “Alright, hold on,” Jack began, “I haven’t had a person fall off this horse yet and I’m not tryna start a count today.” 

It was no secret that Jane Dunn-Livingston was the human embodiment of one Cruella Deville at times and it was definitely at an all time high whenever she was around her brother. Maybe it was the fact that her entire issue with her family was her whole eat the rich shtick was a waste when she ended up marrying someone who came from a family who was twice as bad as any of the families who wanted to prance their new little horse’s around. The Livingston’s were a stuck up, snooty bunch of spoiled old money lap dogs who aided and adhered to every request of their extremely controlling patriarch and she was tired of it. Her own husband stood by idle as the family made jokes about those who were less fortunate, knowing full well that it would make Jane utterly uncomfortable.

There she was, entering the stables when she came across her brother and she couldn’t let the moment pass without reminding him just how disgusted she was with his.. career choice. “If it isn’t the Corrupted Cowboy at it again. What, are you here to… pump another horse full of hormones, false hopes so you can run off and show your little friends your pride and joy?” the insult rolled off of her tongue as easily as it was for her to breathe. Jane may have had love for her brother but that didn’t mean she needed to support anything he was doing with those horses. In her heart of hearts, they deserved better than he was giving them and the wedding planner was never known for holding her tongue. // @jacksdunnit​

Jack grew up being the second eldest in a family that had not just one but four daughters. How he hadn’t been murdered every second of the day was probably a shock to even his mother who probably got accused more often than not of “going easy” on him since he was the only son. In reality, she just didn’t yell at him as often since his father readily dealt with all of that when it came to him. Judah Dunn and his daughters, on the other hand, would have easily sacrificed his only son for one of the girls. That was just the hard truth. Not that he didn’t love Jack... but Jack never made loving him that easy. 

So when one of Judah’s wonderful daughters arrived at the barn Jack couldn’t help but clench his teeth. While Jack was probably closest with Lou, partially due to their small age gap and largely due to their shared interest of the family business, he could not say the same for he and Jane. The two were, almost aways, at odds with one another for what they decided to do with their lives. “Jesus,” he groaned and shook his head at her. “You’re a real good advertisement for business, yeah?” He turned his back to her for a moment to slide the door of the stall shut, pulling the lock in and turning back around, arms folding across his chest. “You get off your throne to come all the way out here just to insult me? Or were you gonna make yourself useful?” 

travis knew how it was to have to chase some cattle down. a couple of his cows had got out before and he had to try to get them back in the fence and he didn’t mind help jack with this anyways. “that makes more sense.” he chuckled along with him. he could definitely see the look on lou’s face or even the words that would spill out of her mouth if he’d called her over this but he was glad he didn’t. “well, we’ll keep this between us unless someone else around town tells her the donkeys escaped.” he shook his head in response, “no i wouldn’t mind at all. what’s the plan? what do ya think the easiest way to get ‘em back to the farm is?”

Jack shrugged his shoulders, not displaying any type of fear for his sister finding out about this mishap. While he knew what her reaction would most likely be... it was still Lou. The major talking point would have been how many people had posted pictures of the donkeys downtown and Jack making a spectacle rather than the fact they left the property. Though, leaving the property would’ve also been a talking point. Just not the highlight. “I’m thinkin’ that I’ll just herd them back, honestly. If I rope one of ‘em the other ones usually do a good job of playing follow the leader.” He tapped the rope that hung from the saddle, “If anything they all got halters on so I could just tie all three of their asses together.” 

There were a lot of strange things that came with living in a small, rural town, and one of the ones he would never get used to, was people riding down the street on horses. Iain adored the horses of course, and had attempted to befriend Jack on more than one occasion just so he could have an excuse to go pet them, but it was still weird. To him anyway. So, when he saw nobody other than Jack walking down the street on his horse, Iain took a moment to debate if he had actually woken up this morning. Or was it a fever dream? He didn’t know, but he supposed if he was in the hospital with a fever, he probably wouldn’t be aware.

It was Jack’s voice that broke through his thoughts and Iain waved back to him as the pair came to a halt. Iain extended his hand, knuckles up, for the horse to smell before gently dragging his fingers over their nose. “You know,” he sighed, “I’ve heard you say a lot of strange things, but this might take the cake. Uhm…I haven’t seen any donkeys around here, unless you count Mr. O’Malley, but he’s a different kind of donkey,” Iain leaned in towards Pork Chop a little, “Not very nice if you ask me.”

Iain was one of the individuals in town who seemed to genuinely enjoy being around the horses. This trait, of course, was deemed as something both admirable and respectable to Jack. So when he approached he (and Pork Chop) were met with more positivity than annoyance or the desire to immediately walk away. As Iain reached a hand out the animal reciprocated the action by gently pushing his nose towards the hand and sighing loudly. 

“Oh, yeah,” Jack agreed with a laugh, “O’Malley’s always been like that.” There was a pause as Jack relaxed into the saddle more, slouching a bit and placing his hand on his thigh as he looked around the immediate area. Funny how one person could manage to lose three animals that had no problem sticking out in a populated setting. “Well, if you see them...” He paused and then turned back to Iain, “Give me a call. They’re all friendly, like food. They’re probably destroying someone’s garden right about now.” Jack showed no urgency about the situation, “Really, who would be the worst to get a call from if they’re out there eatin’ someone’s garden?”

Brooklyn shrugged her shoulders. “It sounds a lot like you lost them,” but who was she to judge? She really wouldn’t be caught dead out at Whiskey Hollows anyhow. Despite having Dakota for a brother, she wasn’t exactly the type to get dirt under her fingernails unless she found herself on the country roads with Tate back in high school. It was one of the few times the blonde allowed herself to fall off the tracks a bit. To let loose, so to speak. Brooklyn felt her eyes roll back at the mention of her brother. A natural reaction when anyone spoke of him. Not that she didn’t love Dakota, as he was family, but he had his moments. “What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” she lifted her shoulders in another shrug, “Plus, when have I ever gone and listened to my brother?” 

“C’mon now,” Jack said with a hearty laugh, “You’re tellin’ me you don’t listen to ol’ Dakota?” Although Jack had only met with Brooklyn Carver on a handful of occasions he had no doubt that she could (and would) simply ignore her brother. Perhaps it should have been in Jack’s best interest to display some sort of restraint in encouraging poor behavior, but that just wasn’t who he was. Three younger sisters or not, Jack couldn’t help but applaud Brooklyn’s attitude, especially since it was at the expense of someone he had a long history of issues with. “I think he’ll be okay as long as you’re just helpin’ me find these donkeys.” 

Ayla had laughed when one of her regulars had mention something about donkeys. He was a drunk and while she wasn’t sure she’d given him enough to have a full on hallucination, she also felt like it was the sanest of explications. After a while, the brunette ventured outside for fresh air and in the hope of letting their new vender know where their back door was when, much to her shock, she noted two donkeys wandering down the street. “Hey,” she hoped to beckon them with an outstretched hand and while they paused, they seemed to have no interest in her empty palm.

She pushed open the door to the bar and yelled out for someone to find something that donkey’s could eat. Evidently, the group of drunken elderly were no help at all. Just as she set on the adventure of following the donkeys ( mainly in fear that they would get hit ), she noted a male walking down on a horse. 

“What the fuck is happening?” She muttered to herself, feeling as if she’d been plopped directly in the middle of some movie.  Dark hues blinked in his direction for a moment. He was hot. A cowboy. What was that song? Save a horse, ride a cowboy. 

“Yeah, they’re over there.” She pointed down the road. “I can show you but you might get down there quicker.” She had half a mind to ask if she could get behind him to direct him down the small streets.

Even though this had only been the second (recorded) time that Jack had managed to somehow lose animals from Whiskey Hollow it felt normal for him to wander in the downtown area on horseback. Of course, this was probably due to the past events and parades that had happened downtown where Whiskey Hollow showed up to represent on horseback. Memorial Day parades had a tendency to consist of Jack on horseback with an American Flag and a red-white-and blue pony. So being there with Pork Chop didn’t feel too out of place.

The woman he had asked pointed down the road to where the donkeys had last been seen heading. Jack couldn’t help but sigh at this and nodded his head slowly in response. “You’d be surprised how slow this one can be,” Jack joked lightly, patting the horse’s neck. The animal turned its head, ears swiveled forward towards the dark haired woman with momentary interest, seeking out food. “’Bout how far ahead would you say they were last you saw ‘em?” Jack inquired. “If they’ve gone too far then you might have to get on up here,” he joked. 

At first he thought that he could be dreaming, because it wasn’t every day that he ran into someone on a horse. They could live in a small town, but it wasn’t exactly a country one, at least not one that he would consider to be, so he wasn’t used to seeing someone using a horse as their way of transport, as people usually used cars, buses, etc, for that, so it came as a surprise to him, “Not really, I would have noticed if there were donkeys running around, so I really doubt that they came this way” he doubted anyone would miss that, as it was also another unusual thing. They would probably have filmed and taken pictures.

“You’d be surprised,” Jack replied with a nonchalant shrug. “Last time they got out they ended up downtown.” Which was true, though it had been quite some time since Jack got to make a spectacle of himself during daylight hours in town. Donkeys were known for being mischievous and also escape artists. If they got too bored they’d figure out a way to go on a little adventure and it seemed that they also managed to learn when Jack would forget to turn the fence back on. “Well,” Jack began and reached into the front pocket of his shirt, “If you do see ‘em give me a call, y’know?” he leaned down from the horse and handed a card towards the other man. “Or if you notice any of your local landscaping has been, uh, restyled. I’d love to know ‘bout it.” 

Brooke was known, despite her brother’s hatred for the Dunn, to have the hots for Jack. Who could really blame her? Besides Dakota. The blonde knew that Jack was a tool and yet, that was partly what made him so goddamn attractive to her. She hadn’t really had the best taste in men since her high school relationship with Tate. She preferred the flings, the high of being with someone for fun time and not a long time. From sleeping with her boss to certainly not minding if she ever slipped into the sheets with Jack, Brooke had some serious issues she needed to confront about her taste in men. 

When she was approached by Jack. On a horse. She nearly asked to give him a ride right then and there. Her brow raised at his question. Clearly, Jack wasn’t just going to approach her out of the blue to talk. He looked like was on a mission, mounted on that horse. “Uh, what?” She couldn’t believe what he was asking. If she had seen any donkeys? “I can’t say that I have,” she looked around, expecting one to have snuck up on her in the meantime. “I mean, did you lose them? Are they that easy to lose?” 

Something about having to approach Brooklyn Carver about the whereabouts of the donkeys was kind of amusing. Being the younger sister of Dakota Carver he could only imagine the colorful description that he would be given when she’d most likely retell this tale at a later date. He’d say something like ‘an ass looking for asses?’ and most people wouldn’t disagree. “I wouldn’t say I lost them,” Jack said in defense of his earlier brain fade. “I would just say that they got out and all that matters is that I’m out here lookin’ for them.” That wasn’t necessarily true. It mattered that he was looking but it would’ve made a bigger difference had he just turned the fence back on. “You allowed to be talkin’ to me?” Jack quizzed, “Or is your brother gonna come out here and go all Inglourious Basterds on me?”

travis tossed some of his groceries in this back of old red pick up truck when something caught the corner of his eyes. donkeys? was he hallucinating or were there really a couple of donkeys wandering around? this was tupelo after all and sure, he didn’t have any but his family farm wasn’t the only family farm in tupelo. he had no idea how to tell whose they were though or he’d round them up himself and take them back to where they came from. he decided on calling lou and just as he dialed her number, jack came up on his horse and he hung the phone call up before she could answer. “uh, yeah. they actually just headed back behind the grocery store. ya need help takin’ ‘em back over to the farm? i don’t mind helping you round ‘em up. how’d they get out anyways? you got a fence down or something?”

“Shit,” Jack sighed, placing a hand on his hip and resting his forearm against the horn of the saddle. Travis said that the donkeys had just rounded the back of the grocery store and it wasn’t exactly a surprise. They were probably rummaging around acting as if they had never eaten a day in their lives, making quite a scene, and disturbing the peace. “Nah, I was workin’ on the fence. Turned off the power to the electric fence and didn’t turn it back on.” Jack couldn’t help but laugh at the situation a bit, “Lou’s gonna have to trust someone else with workin’ on their pasture if I do this shit again.” He could already see his sister with her arms crossed and that smug look on her face knowing that her brother had, again, forgotten to turn the fence back on and now the donkeys were out. “Would you mind? Brought the ol’ boy down because I feel like chasing ‘em on foot or with the truck just wouldn’t work out that great when it’s just me.” 

How Bernie Delgado had lived in Tupelo for four years and somehow managed not to meet Jack Dunn was truly a wonder. Seeing a man strolling down the street in downtown atop a horse was a man who looked entirely self-assured in the way that only a mediocre white man with money and family status could be. Letting out a laugh at what she was looking at, Bernie shook her head before tucking her hair behind her ear. “Is this a joke? Am I on one of those TV shows or some kind of social media prank?” It didn’t seem like anything that could be really happening, but if it was, Bernie was going to milk it for all it’s worth. “An attractive man just casually riding his horse downtown looking for a trio of rogue donkeys? If I’m dreaming, I deserve an award for creativity on this one.”

When asked if the situation was a result of being filmed for a social media prank the smile on Jack’s face faded. The look on his face then quickly replaced by one that was better aligned with confusion rather than the look of an ass on a horse looking for three other asses. “No?” He tilted his head at the woman and then shrugged his confusion away after a few moments. “Not a dream,” Jack added, the stupid grin he usually had on his face returning. “I’m just lookin’ for my Three Amigos.” He patted the shoulder of the round little horse he was on as Pork Chop reached a nose toward the woman in search of food. “Oh, if it were a dream it would be a pretty good one,” He continued, “You know, ‘cause I’m here.” 

Location: Downtown Tupelo

Jack was many things, but being forgetful of the animals at Whiskey Hollow was not one of them. However, he had found himself working on the fence that kept three mischievous donkeys corralled up behind the barn and when he had finished he had failed to turn the electric fence part back on. This discovery had only been made when he had returned to the pasture later on and found it completely vacant. The Three Amigos had vanished without a trace and were surely downtown wreaking havoc (where they had been found before the last time Jack had forgotten to turn the fence back on). 

So there he was, sitting atop one of his most trusted steeds who was affectionately named “Pork Chop”. The name neatly etched onto the leather breast plate around the animal’s shoulders, one side saying ‘Pork’ and the other ‘Chop’ to give a clear indication of the legend who wore it. 

The two meandered casually down the side of the road into the downtown area of Tupelo, seeking out every alley alongside the buildings to see where these donkeys had run off to. A few people seemed to be surprised by the vision of Jack and Pork Chop wandering around, but most behaved as if it were perfectly natural. As he passed by someone he gave a wave. “Hey!” He said, bringing the little buckskin horse to a halt. “Have you by any chance seen three donkeys around here? They look like... well... donkeys.”
