I haven't posted about my project in a long time, but I just received the Holley Terminator X Max system that I ordered a few days ago. Can't wait to get back to work on my truck and get it done.

First Look: The Mid-Engine Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Chevrolet fulfills the promise of the iconic Corvette with the introduction of the 2020 Stingray, the brand’s first-ever production mid-engine Corvette. The sum of everything that came before it, the 2020 Stingray is re-imagined to bring customers new levels of performance, technology, craftsmanship and luxury.
The new mid-engine layout gives the 2020 Stingray:
Better weight distribution, with the rear weight bias enhancing performance in a straight line and on the track.
Better responsiveness and sense of control due to driver positioning closer to the front axle, almost on top of the front wheels.
The fastest 0-60 time of any entry Corvette ever — under three seconds when equipped with Z51 Performance Package.
A race car-like view of the road due to lower positioning of the hood, instrument panel and steering wheel. Excellent forward sightlines throughout the vehicle for both driver and passenger.
Dual trunks for a total of 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume
The entry 2020 Stingray continues that tradition as a no-compromise value proposition, as it will start under $60,000.
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray goes into production at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly in late 2019. Additional pricing and packaging information will be shared closer to launch.
I love this car.
Supposedly, Esquire mag messed up and dropped an article on the C8 early and then pulled it.
495hp and 0-60 in around 3 seconds is what I'm hearing as well.
The reveal is in just under two hours!

This car looks terrifying. I want it.
Got the engine and trans pulled today!

So after about a year of sitting I finally got around to finishing up the engine that was going to go in the Camaro, but now is going on the stepside Chevy I posted about a while ago. Next is just throwing the rockers and valve covers on, then I'll roll my truck into the garage and start this swap. I'm super excited to get this thing done.
It's a gen III 5.3 LS block with fresh bearings, polished original crank, gen IV rods and flat top pistons from an L33 aluminum 5.3, a Lil John's Motorsport Solutions stage II turbo cam, Brian Tooley Racing .660 lift platinum double valve springs and the stock needle bearing style rocker trunnions have been replaced by a Straub Technologies bushing style kit.
After the swap is done and I drive it around for a while and work out any bugs, I'll start gathering turbo stuff.
Take me back to Maui...

So I'm in Maui, Hawaii on my honeymoon.
Have some pics of a Hawaiian sunset.

So time for another update on the Camaro project. I'm selling the Camaro. I'm instead going to swap and build this 1988 Chevy Scottsdale 1500 stepside. My dad bought this truck new in 1988. In 1996, he sold it to his dad and in 2002 my grandfather swapped a C4 Corvette LT1 engine and 4L60E transmission into the truck. He improved and refined the swap over the years until he sold it two years ago. About a month ago I was on Craigslist looking around and saw this truck for sale. I went and looked at it and drove it and called my grandfather about it the next day. It turns out he regretted selling it, so we went and bought it back. I'm going to swap my 5.3/th350 into this truck instead, so the Camaro has to go. It's a little hard to sell the Camaro, but only because of the time I've put into it. The car itself doesn't mean anything to me and I don't have much money in it, but this truck has basically been around my whole life and was even supposed to be mine at 16 until it got the Vette engine. I can always save up for later and buy a nicer t-top 6 speed Camaro or Trans Am or 6 speed, 6 liter Goat that I will enjoy much more than a stripped down, beat up, swapped v6 base 94.
Camaro project update. It's been a while cause I've kinda stopped using Tumblr since it got all spammy. The engine is almost done. It's a gen III 5.3 block with the stock polished crank, gen IV rods and flat top pistons and a Little John Motorsport Solutions stage II turbo cam.

Well, it's been a while, but I recently discovered that this minor looking damage from a head gasket leak wouldn't clean up by boring it .40 over. The bottom end and was good though, so I'm now looking for a bare block. Definitely a disappointment, but that's part of dealing with junkyard engines.
Got the Camaro out of the hole it's been in for a year, cleaned it up and rolled it into the shop. Time to start working on it again!
