It is said that they are DIPLOMATIC, however they can also be MANIPULATIVE. After years of peace it has been decided that they DISAGREE with the treaty.
Nadara Vanserra is the eldest of three children born to the High Lord and Lady of Autumn Court. Once just as much of a hopeless romantic and optimist as her younger sister, Leandra, Nadara has unfortunately encountered a long string of mishaps in her three-quarters of a century of life.
In her early twenties, still a child in Fae years, Nadara and her siblings traveled to Spring Court for some summit of sorts. Too young to care, she convinced Leandra to sneak past the walls to “ meet a human ”. They hadn’t been truly expecting to, and were equally as surprised to find a boy nearly the same age as them they’d quite literally run into. Nadara was starstruck immediately, and believed the equally naive boy she’d spent the day with could possibly be her future mate.
When they’d returned, their parents had been horrified and kept them away from any Spring Court travels for nearly a decade before Nadara had the chance to find the man she had not forgotten a single day since. Unfortunately, when she finally managed to return and track him down, she discovered he’d already grown and married a mortal woman and had a gaggle of children. “ What good are humans for if they’ll only age and forget about you ? ” she’d asked her sister during their travels home.
Nearly a decade later, at age 35, Nadara had moved on, becoming well acquainted with the manners and routine of Autumn Court. Groomed to be eloquent and well-versed, it was no feat to capture the heart of a Noble Fae male within her own court. She was meant to marry another child of a High Lord, but Nadara yet again let her heart take the lead. Surely loving another Fae could not end poorly ?
Only a few years later, at 38, the male had asked for her hand, and Nadara was overjoyed. They would announce their decision to her parents in two weeks, when he returned from scouting trip into the Imperial Court. Unfortunately, the fates had other plans in mind. Her betrothed never returned, killed with an ash-tipped arrow by a human. Her once indifferent political views evolved into “ Let the humans and their treaty burn ”.
Marred by her grief and rage, Nadara had no interest in anything other than vengeance against the Imperial and Spring Courts, blaming them for what happened to the male who she was sure would be her mate after they’d married.
Much to her dismay, Nadara was eventually married off to the High Lord of Spring Court, where she now rules as High Lady. Depending on how long they’ve been married, none or only one of his three children is through their union.
In current times, High Lady Nadara is pragmatic, withdrawn, full of precisely calculated smiles, and still plotting vengeance against both Spring Court and Imperial Court. She views others strictly as allies or enemies, with no in between. If you are an ally, you have her undying loyalty. Otherwise ? She’d just as soon watch you b u r n.
