“Whatever your calling, it’s already rooted within you, and those roots can be trampled or tugged at but never removed. They grow stronger only when tended, nurtured—and, most important, shared with others.” Oprah Winfrey. When I painted this oak tree in an acorn, I was reflecting on how purpose is created and the power of potential. When somebody shows you an acorn seed, what do you see? For most people, they will say, a seed. But with the use of our imagination, we see the oak tree and a forest. Another quote I love about trees is, “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, and the next best time is, now.” I believe that today is the best time for me to start sharing my purpose, to help others see the connection between art and purpose to find joy, hope, meaning, and beauty in everyday life- the very essence of how purpose is created. And the timing couldn’t be more perfect...it’s Christmas day. The birth of purpose that gave purpose to everyone who believes.
