I feel like I donât have enough followers to do one of these but I have so many things in my head that Iâm wondering what to write !!! Theyâre all zanka x reader btw (sorry thatâs like the only thing I can writeđ˘đ˘)
Sooo Catboy Zanka won in a landslide (who's even surprised lmao) so I'm gonna work on that. I'm kinda glad because that was one of two that I had a storyline for and I think it's gonna be interesting. I don't know when I'm totally gonna get it done because I'm really busy with family and stuff rn but lmk if you want to be tagged in it and I'll happily do that!! I'll prob do sleeping hcs next because that was second place and then I'll prob do the academic rivals hell guard storyline on ao3. Okay have a good day!!

How Enjin and Zanka would act in your birthday, Headcanons (request)
ENJIN
đ Don't expect anything quiet. He'll make sure that literally the entire base knows it's your special day.
đ He'll give you an incredibly meaningful gift. It might be something that's important to him, just like you are.
đ He'll buy you an absurd amount of food. He'll insist you eat until you can't eat anymore, and he'll probably end up eating whatever you leave.
đ Behind his carefree and cheerful demeanor, he'll get serious for a second to look you in the eyes, pat you on the back (maybe a little too hard), and tell you how grateful he is to have you in his life.
đ All day long, he'll have his arm around your shoulders, ruffle your hair, and make sure no one bothers you or makes you work.
ZANKA
đ Zanka will be extremely nervous for days beforehand. He'll try to act cool and nonchalant, but his red ears will completely give him away as soon as he says good morning to you.
đ His gift will be perfectly wrapped with a bow he spent hours making to make it look beautiful. It will be something very useful for your daily life or a perfect lucky charm he's been searching for for weeks.
đ He'll try to make something for you himself to prove his worth, but if something comes out slightly burnt or imperfect, he'll get frustrated and defensive, saying, "It's not like I put in that much effort, I just made a small mistake!"
đ As an added "gift," he'll appoint himself your personal bodyguard for the entire day. If anyone walks too close to you, Zanka will glare at them menacingly, Assistaff in hand.
đ When the commotion is over and you're alone, he'll express, very honestly and without hesitation, how much he admires you and how important you are to him.
Imagine: You were Enjinâs beloved little sister. The one he had always protected and spoiled, the one he was ready to deal with anyone over without asking too many questions.
And somehow, out of all the Cleaners, Zanka was the one who had caught your eye.
The only problem was that Zanka seemed to fear and respect your brother far more than he was willing to admit. So whenever you hinted at your feelings, he responded with tense silence, carefully kept his distance, and pretended not to notice your interest at all.
It did not upset you. Quite the opposite, it amused you endlessly. That was exactly why you loved creating situations that made Zanka especially uncomfortable.
Like accidentally getting locked inside the headquarters storage room with him.
It was unusually quiet in there today. Zanka pulled the door handle for the third time, then threw his shoulder against it and let out an irritated breath.
âLocked.â
You were sitting on one of the crates, idly swinging one leg.
âWhat a tragedy.â
He slowly turned his head toward you.
âDoes this not bother you at all?â
âShould it?â
âWeâre locked in a storage room.â
âI noticed.â
Zanka frowned even harder and grabbed the handle again, as though it might suddenly be moved by his persistence and open on its own.
You struggled to hide your smile.
The situation did look strange, to be fair. You had come here to collect supplies for the next mission. Zanka had entered first, with you following right behind him, and barely a minute later, the door had somehow ended up locked.
From the inside. Exactly how that had happened was something you preferred not to explain. Zanka preferred not to ask. Probably because he was already beginning to suspect the answer.
âYou didnât do anything, did you?â he finally asked.
You pressed a hand to your chest.
âHow could you possibly think that of me?â
âVery easily.â
âThat hurts.â
âYouâre smiling.â
âIs that forbidden?â
He gave you a long, irritated look. That was exactly why you enjoyed teasing him so much.
Zanka could keep a perfectly composed expression during training, on missions, and even when Rudo pushed him to the edge of his patience. But the moment you stepped a little too close, a barely noticeable tension appeared in him.
Not because he disliked you. At least, you hoped not. The real reason was much funnier.
Enjin. Your dear older brother.
Zanka had once said, with complete seriousness, that getting involved with Enjinâs younger sister would be âpractically voluntary suicide and an exceptional display of disrespect.â
Ever since then, you had considered it your duty to regularly remind him of that fear. Meanwhile, Zanka was studying the small window near the ceiling.
âIf we move the cratesâŚâ
You let out a heavy sigh.
âZanka.â
âWhat?â
âRelax for one minute.â
âI am relaxed.â
You looked at him. Then at the door. Then back at him.
âOf course you are.â
He was clearly about to argue, but you had already stepped closer.
âSit down.â
âWhy?â
âJust sit.â
âNo.â
You placed your hands on his shoulders.
Zanka tensed immediately.
âHey.â
âSit.â
âI can do it myselfâŚâ
You pressed down lightly, forcing him onto the old wooden chair by the wall.
Zanka looked up at you with obvious displeasure.
âHappy?â
âNot yet.â
Before he could ask what that was supposed to mean, you calmly settled yourself on his lap. Zanka froze. He seemed to stop breathing altogether.
You rested one hand comfortably on his shoulder and playfully twirled a lock of his hair around your finger.
âMuch better.â
Trying to preserve what remained of his composure, he let out a heavy breath and said seriously,
âGet up.â
âWhy?â you asked, batting your eyelashes innocently.
âBecause.â
âVery convincing, Zanka.â
âGet up.â
âZanka.â
âWhat?â
You leaned a little closer, your warm breath brushing against his skin.
âAre you thinking about Enjin again?â
His expression told you everything.
You laughed.
âGod, you really are afraid of him.â
âIâm not afraid of him.â
âOf course.â
âI simply respect him as my mentor.â
âHow devoted.â
âYour brother once told everyone that if anyone at headquarters tried to make a move on you, he would personallyâŚâ
âEnjin says a lot of things,â you said, waving a dismissive hand.
âHe was completely serious when he said it.â
âHe was being dramatic. You know heâs hardly a saint himself.â
âThat is exactly what worries me.â
You barely managed to hold back another laugh.
Zanka carefully placed his hands on your waist, clearly intending to move you somewhere farther away, but you immediately raised an eyebrow.
âWhat?â he asked irritably.
âNothing.â
âJust say it.â
âYouâre holding my waist all by yourself now.â
Zanka pulled his hands away at once. You burst out laughing.
âYouâre impossible,â he muttered.
âAnd you like that about me.â
You touched his cheek with the tip of your finger.
âNo,â Zanka answered evenly.
You pushed out your lower lip in an offended pout.
âNot even a little?â
âNot even a little.â
You leaned closer still, until your lips were barely brushing.
âThen why are you blushing?â
âItâs stuffy in here.â
âZanka, itâs colder in here than it is in the hallway.â
âStop while you still can.â
You smiled and finally rose from his lap. He immediately let out a breath of relief. Then you walked over to the door and calmly turned the small latch beside the handle.
Click.
The door swung open.
Silence fell behind you. A very dangerous kind of silence. You slowly turned around.
Zanka was still sitting on the chair, staring at you as though he had just witnessed the greatest betrayal of his life.
âYouâŚâ
âWhat?â
âYou locked the door?â
âMaybe.â
âWe could have left this entire time?â
You gave him an innocent shrug.
âAt least you got to rest.â
âIâm going to kill you.â
âIâll tell Enjin.â
Zanka covered his face with one hand. Smiling in satisfaction, you stepped out into the hallway.
A second later, the top of your head appeared in the doorway again.
âBy the way, Zanka?â
âWhat now?â
âNext time, you donât have to move your hands.â
Then you disappeared before he had the chance to answer. For several seconds, Zanka remained completely still.
Zanka knew perfectly well what he felt for you. And he hated it.
Not because you were a problemâquite the oppositeâbut because a relationship, or any kind of distraction, went against the only thing that mattered to him: becoming stronger. It was an almost obsessive conviction. And yet⌠you didnât fit into that logic. You never had.
Your voice, the way you moved around the infirmary, the calm with which you treated every wound⌠and, worst of all, the way you looked at him, as if he werenât just an idiot who had lost yet another fight.
âIâm ready. Take off your shirt.â Your tone was soft, natural. Too natural.
Zanka blinked, snapping out of his thoughts. âWhatâŚ?â
He stared at you as if he hadnât understood the language, while heat rose to his face uninvited.
âI need to change your bandages,â you repeated, tilting your head slightly, with that patience that always seemed to disarm him.
He clicked his tongue, more annoyed at himself than at you.
âI know.â
Even so, he hesitated for a second before obeying. His fingers tugged at the fabric clumsily, as if taking off his shirt had suddenly become a much more complicated task than usual. He set it aside, avoiding looking at you directly.
He could feel your eyes on him, and that was worse than any blow, because he felt the burning rush of blood climbing from his neck to his face.
You approached without hurry, your warm hands brushing his skin as you removed the bandages. The contact was light, professional⌠but enough to make his shoulders tense and steal his breath.
âYouâre stiffer than before,â you murmured, focused, as you gently worked around his wound. âDoes it hurt?â
âNo,â he answered too quickly.
He swallowed when your fingers moved a little more slowly, cleaning the area. There was something in the way you touched him⌠careful, but firm⌠that made it impossible for him to ignore you.
âYou should learn to dodge better,â you added, almost jokingly.
Zanka let out a short, dry laugh. âNext time, Iâll win.â
âEither way, Iâm glad it wasnât more serious than this. I like spending time with you, even if itâs because of your injuries.â
Your words were so natural that he couldnât help but widen his eyes in surprise. You finished rebandaging him, leaning just a little closer than necessary. A strand of your hair brushed against his collarbone, and Zanka went completely still.
He didnât dare move or breathe.
âAll done,â you said at last, stepping back slightly.
Zanka frowned, as if something bothered him⌠even though he couldnât quite tell what it was.
âHey.â
You stopped before fully turning away. âYeah?â
He hesitated⌠âDamn it.â
âNothing.â
He clicked his tongue again, looking away.
It wasnât the moment. But as he watched you walk away through the infirmary, with that same calm as always⌠Zanka knew he was losing.

A/N: guys I really love this frame, he looks so fucking good ugh, hope I could use this for everything
For Zanka, a Jinki wasn't just a tool; it was an extension of his soul, alive and worthy of absolute reverence.
This was especially true for Lovely Assistaff, his beloved staff. He guarded it fiercely, rarely letting anyone else lay a finger on it.
However, you were the sole exception to his rule.
You sat on the edge of your desk, carefully wiping the smooth surface of the staff with a soft cloth. Your movements were slow, deliberate, and filled with quiet tenderness. You treated the object not as a dangerous weapon, but as something precious that deserved the utmost care.
He stood a few steps away, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest. He watched you intently, his sharp eyes following your every move. Normally, seeing someone tamper with his beloved instrument would make him incredibly tense, and his instincts would scream at him to snatch it away immediately. But with you, her posture remained relaxed. He trusted you completely. He knew you understood the weight of a Giver's bond with their Jinki.
"You're doing well," Zanka murmured, breaking the silence of the room. A small, rare smile played at the corner of his lips. "Most people don't take care of it the way they should. But you... you really understand."
You looked up, smiling at him warmly.
"She tries so hard to keep you safe, Zanka. It's the least I can do to make sure she's well cared for."
As if answering your own words, you lifted the staff slightly, leaned down, and placed a soft, affectionate kiss against the wood near the top.
Zanka's breath caught in his throat for a moment. His cheeks flushed a deep red, and he had to cover himself with the collar of his jacket to hide the strange laugh that threatened to spill over his face.
After a few minutes, he cleared his throat sharply as he looked away. Seeing you care for his beloved Assistaff with such reverence always had the same effect on him. He felt intimately connected to it, and every drop of affection you gave Assistaff felt, somehow, as if it were meant for him as well.
"Yes, well," he stammered slightly, trying to regain his usual confident composure as he walked over to stand right beside you. He reached out, gently placing his hand on top of yours on the handle of the staff. "She likes you. I can tell. She always responds better after you spend time cleaning her."
"I like her too," you teased softly, meeting his eyes and noticing the lingering pink in his face. "And I like you."
Zanka let out a soft snort, and a genuine, affectionate smile broke through his feigned annoyance. He leaned forward, resting his forehead gently against yours.
"Good answer. Just keep handling her carefully, okay? I'm not confiding this to anyone else."

You hadnât seen Zanka as often over the past few days, and you knew, though he refused to admit it, that losing that fight against Jabber had affected him more than he wanted to acknowledge. The moment he was discharged from the infirmary, he began chaining one mission after another without stopping, hiding behind that worn-out excuse of âgetting stronger,â as if pain could be buried under physical exertion. Because of that, finding him had become almost impossible.
You wandered through the HQ with no real destination, lost in your own thoughts, when the sound of your choker broke the silence. You didnât need to look to know it was him; no one else called you like that. You answered immediately, not even giving him the chance to speak first.
"Iâ".
"Where are you?" you asked abruptly, cutting him off before he could say a word.
"On a mission, you know that⌠Well, I just finished it. Can you ask Semiuâ?"
"No," you interrupted, dry and sharp.
"No what?"
"Stop."
There was a brief pause on the other end.
"What do you mean?"
"This. All of this. Youâre overexerting yourself and you could end up worse than you already are. Youâre strong, Zanka, and you know it. Losing a fight is normalâyou should know that better than anyone. That doesnât mean you have toâ"
"Can you ask Semiu?" he cut you off again, completely ignoring what you were saying, as if your words carried no weight.
That was enough.
"Damn it! Can you stop? Youâre soâ ugh," you clenched your teeth, frustrated. "Iâm not going to ask her anything. Weâll talk when you get back."
You cut the connection without giving him the chance to respond, and the anger you had been trying to hold in finally slipped out in a sharp kick against an empty flowerpot in the hallway, which rolled a few inches across the floor.
When he finally came back, he avoided you. He wasnât subtle about it. Zanka hated lectures, hated confrontation⌠and, more than anything, he hated being told the truth, because the truth hurt more than any physical wound.
"Why are you ignoring me?" you asked from the doorway to his room after watching him in silence for a few minutes. He was sitting on his bed, unmoving, pretending to be calm when he wasnât.
"Iâm not."
You sighed, tired, and stepped inside anyway, closing the distance between you until you sat down beside him.
"Iâm serious when I say you need to stop."
Zanka barely frowned, almost imperceptibly, maintaining that rigid façade of an unbothered boy who pretended to have everything under control. He didnât respond. The silence stretched long enough to become uncomfortable.
"When Jabber poisoned youâŚ" your voice cracked slightly, betraying you. "I thought you were going to die."
You saw his hands tighten around Assistaff, gripping it harder than necessary.
"I was scared," you continued, quieter. "Really scared. I donât want a life without you⌠and I hate seeing you like this, pushing yourself until you break. Because thatâs all youâre doing. Hurting yourself."
Zanka didnât lift his gaze, but his breathing grew heavier.
"You did well," you added, softening your tone. "You gave it your all, and Iâm proud of you for that. I really am. But you donât have to destroy yourself to prove it⌠Please, rest. Even if itâs just a little. You wake up every day at five to train, then go on missions⌠youâre slowly killing yourself like this."
The silence returned, but this time it wasnât the same. There was something else in it, something fractured.
Slowly, as if it cost him more than it should, Zanka let go of his weapon. His shoulders dropped slightly, losing that constant rigidity he wore like armor. He didnât say anything, he didnât have words for it, he never did, but he didnât pull away when you moved a little closer either.
Carefully, you brought a hand to his hair, sliding your fingers through the strands in a soft, almost automatic gesture. At first, he didnât react, as if he didnât know what to do with something so simple. Then, barely noticeable, he leaned in.
It was a small movement, clumsy even, but enough.
He rested his head against your lap.
You stayed still for a second, surprised, before relaxing and continuing to stroke his hair, this time more gently, as if any sudden movement might make him pull away. You could feel the weight of his exhaustion, not just physical, but something much deeper, something he didnât even know how to handle.
His breathing gradually steadied, becoming slower, heavier. The minutes passed in silence, accompanied only by the faint brushing of your hand through his hair.
Zanka never asked for help.
But this time, he chose to accept it, because it was you.
When he finally fell asleep, his expression softened in a way that almost hurt to see, as if, for the first time in days, he had stopped fighting.
And you didnât move, because Zanka needed to rest.
