spiderspirit au (zukka spiderpool meet-ugly)
sokka is just regular old spider-man, including webs that shoot out of his skin. he had many questions about the logistics of that when he first started, but has since decided he doesn't want to know the answers to those questions. he got bitten by a spider while breaking into the lab building of the guy who he and katara beleive is responsible for their mum's death. he didn't find any info about his mum, but he did get weird freak spider powers. (the spider powers are cool, he can't deny that, the only downside is that he's so hungry all of the time. the first month after he got bit, he ate so much food to make up for his metabolism that hakoda became genuinely afraid he was pregnant. nevermind that he doesn't have the parts for that). he hasn't told anyone where he got the powers from, because he's afraid what happened to his mum will happen to him
toph is sokka's ned leeds equivalent, except she doesn't really do much to help. she spends most of her time listening on a stolen police scanner to where, specifically, her dad (police captain) is so that she can send sokka to the same location to ragebait him. sokka has no qualms with this because he hates toph's dad, and he likes messing with the police. the rest of the time toph is 'helping' sokka she spends on roblox, yelling at children through their comms (she's gets banned at least once a week). the comms aren't actually comms, it's a phonecall. but sokka insists they call it comms because that sounds cooler. occasionally, when sokka ends up dealing with corrupt rich people, toph tells him random details about their lives to freak them out.
katara was the first person sokka told once he got his powers (toph doesn't count because nobody told her, she just knew). she, of course, likes to hold this over sokka's friend, and regularly threatens to rat him out to hakoda. (she can't rat him out to bato, because hakoda's the one who passed the obliviousness curse down to sokka and bato has eyes. he did initially try to stop sokka, but then sokka bought up the 'i have an opportunity to stop what happened to mum happening to other people. it would be insanely selfish of me not to' and then bato gave up on changing their minds. he does insist that sokka shares his location though. bato also insists that toph does her 'woman-in-the-chair' stuff from sokka's house. which toph is obviously happy to do.) katara found out because sokka burst into her room in the middle of the night (while on the phone with toph ofc) bleeding out of his head and freaking out about it. she patches him up whenever he gets hurt now (at least, when he gets actually hurt. when he gives himself a black eye after trying to web onto a helicopter she just laughs at him). aang thinks katara should put 'spider-man's one woman medical team' on her med school applications
speaking of aang, he's dead. or at least the avatar is (he doesn't actually have all of the avatars power, just airbender ones (plus flying). i don't know why he's still called the avatar, don't assk me). some weird freak who mind controls people and lives under a lake faked his death for him?? after stealing his dog??? guy won't even tell him why though, which is really annoying and rude actually. aang did initially try to 'come back from the dead' but the lake freak kept mind wiping anyone who saw that aang wasn't actually dead so he's staying fake dead for now. he now has a lot of free time, which he spends joining sokka and toph's voice calls and giving sokka fight advice. the only issue is that he forgets sokka can't fly. sokka also often forgets that he can't fly.
suki doesn't have any powers, but she can absolutely kick ass (and maybe has a spiritual connection to some really tall dead lady who did a lot of murdering). she and sokka met on patrol back when they both were first starting out (and sokka maybe should look at the way he keeps falling for people he meets on patrol) and sokka was 14 and a douchebag. suki asks the guy who she's arresting for bank robbery to give her a moment (he does. sits down against the atm he's robbing and waits) so she can beat sokka's ass. she does, of course and then they quickly become fast friends. they don't tend to patrol together very often though, partly because they just fuck around and challenge each other to stupider and stupider dares. also, suki kind of specialises in helping people who have been attacked or assaulted at night, and both her and sokka are aware that he (tall, masked man) isn't the most comforting presence in that situation.
suki also knows zuko. they met each other in prison one time. as you do. and then they broke each other out of prison. she knows who zuko is both as himself and as the blue spirit, the only person outside of his family who knows. they bump back into each other a couple months later, on patrol, and suki immediately recognises him. they hang out on patrol together sometimes, but keep it very on the down low (partly because of how much sokka hates the blue spirit).
zuko isn't actually deadpool, not exactly. he has deadpool's powers (to some extent, he hasn't tested how far they go, and to azula's dismay, he is unwilling to let her kill him to test it out), got them from some weird freak experiment his dad forced him into doing. he doesn't have full body scarring as a result, just the one on his cheek that also curves down his neck and arm or something. i don't know. him and suki get along in that they both are okay with killing people.
azula obviously knows that zuko is the blue spirit because she knows everything. zuko never expected otherwise. she would be zuko's woman-in-the-chair, but she can't be bothered. she helps him out when he absolutely needs it, but holds it way over his head, and does it in the most illegal, most dangerous possible manner
mai figured out he was the blue spirit the moment she put an ounce of thought into it (when her uncle started being evil) and then asked zuko to beat him up. zuko and azula both were on the side of killing the warden, but mai said that was too much work until the sort his evil prison bullshit out, because the guy he has second in command is actually considerably smarter
zuko's not actually sure if ty lee knows or not, because she does often speak about the blue spirit, but it's always in weird metaphors that zuko is half-convinced she stole from uncle iroh. azula knows, but won't tell zuko because she says he needs to improve his observation skills if he doesn't want to get killed or arrested or something equally as embarrassing
ozai knows, because zuko broke into his house to tell him once. he's ashamed that both of his children ran way from him so he doesn't talk about them, and he's also insanely angry that he can't catch his son, who is literally just some guy in a costume mask. so he's keeping the whole 'my son is the vigilante murderer the blue spirit' thing a secret. because he's dumb and stupid
uncle iroh knows of course. zuko and azula do not know that he knows. he knows that they do not know that he knows. he makes no attempt to stop them, no matter how much he wishes they were staying safe, because he knows that he cannot in any way stop them from doing what they think is right, and he's trying to present himself as an approachable and avaliable person for them to talk to if they want to. he tries to help them out whenever he gets white lotus information that he thinks might be helpful, by leaving it in incredibly unsubtle places around the tea shop for them to find.
