I’ve had a lot of time to think about pride, and what it means. Pride means being who you are wholeheartedly, unashamed. It means loving who you love. It means seeing the changes that have come for the LGBTQIA community, and what changes still need to be made. Going to pride events makes you feel not so alone; being able to love who you love without fear. Pride month is a time to celebrate those who came before us (mainly BIPOC and trans women!), and understand that without them, none of this would be possible. I’m so blessed to have been able to marry my wife. It’s crazy to think that 5 years ago (see us baby gays going to our first pride parade as a couple), we still didn’t have the right to be married. It was something that when we met over 7 years ago, we didn’t know if marriage would be an actual possibility. So much has changed. So much is still going to change. And I am thankful. P.s.
