I know nothing about the college process since school doesn't teach you shit, but I'm extremely motivated to find out. Problem is I don't know where to look! Can you direct me anywhere? Or give advice from ur own heart? Thank you. Love you.
hi love! of course :) this is a pretty broad question and it would be helpful knowing what year you’re in - feel free to direct message me or we can even keep it anon if that’s better.
honestly, the most helpful thing, especially when applying to “””elite”””/ivy league colleges is keeping in mind what you’re most passionate about and then demonstrating that at every turn. so that means meaningful extracurriculars, being genuine in your personal statement and of course achieving academically.
especially because the college application process basically starts freshman year, i made sure to make a timeline for myself. for me, this meant outlining my 4 years of high school and setting goals for each year (also keeping in mind what standardized tests i needed to take and planning those out). i made sure all of those goals were related to things i was passionate about and fit into the overall narrative i was building for myself. by the time i was a senior, i had all my ducks in a row and all i had to do was show that on the common app. that, i think, was the most important thing to do!
ask me questions about college apps!
