Besides, he was pissed and vindictive enough to turn her over to his bosses instead. "Sure, teaming up would be our best bet out of this," he agreed, consciously relaxing his body to appear less of a threat. "They'll never expect it, especially if they're counting on you to deliver me."
She definitely did not want that to happen, she might not be upset if she were to die, but she had to make sure that James will be alright. And she had no grudge against Jackson, though after this it would be best if she would never see him again.
" Good, then we can pretend that you are my prisoner, and I will give you the key to unlock your uncuffs once we meet with your bosses. I assume you know how to fight and you're good with a gun, right?" she wondered if he had agreed to her plan so quickly only because he was planning on double-crossing her later. That was one of the reasons she had no intention of unlocking his handcuffs until they would be in the same room as his bosses.

He listened intently to what she was saying. " I think you're right, but it's scary. It's not easy to be vulnerable and confess your feelings to someone that might reject you.
