Y2K literally stands for “Year 2000.” It refers to the aesthetic trends inspired by the late 1990s and early 2000s.

During this time, the world was experiencing rapid technological advancements and entering the digital age. The anticipation of the new millennium brought both excitement and uncertainty, often referred to as the Y2K bug scare, where people feared computers and systems would fail when the year changed to 2000.
