AKESO (Aceso) was the goddess of curing sickness and healing wounds. Unlike her sister Panakeia (Panacea) she represented the process of a curing rather than the cure itself. Her male counterpart was Akesis (Acesis). In Greek sculpural reliefs Akeso appears alongside her father Asklepios (Asclepius) and sisters Hygeia, Panakeia and Iaso.
