       The SLIGHTEST tilt upwards let her shamrock hues meet his chocolate as he stepped closer to her, almost as though he were TRYING to find the perfect balance between warning && some sense of….. CARE, in some sort. A shake of her head, keeping her eyes LOCKED on his, as words followed, ❝Like I said before, you don’t even KNOW a thing about me. You don’t know that I’ve had a world of monsters on my own, PEOPLE that I’ve dealt with that can’t be much different. Danger is a part of…. My LIFE too. Monsters don’t even begin to cover it.❞ The redhead stated as he shook his head before CONTINUING to speak. She’d had quite a STREAK of her life being saved by others –– she was going to make sure she could take care of HERSELF this time around. ❝Really, you’re going to go with calling me RED? Is it just that you’d rather use any other option than going with my ACTUAL name?❞ Although at this point she wasn’t too bothered by it. At least it was a whole lot BETTER than ❛little girl❜. As he made a MOTION to continue, turning to walk in front of her, she followed for a few mere seconds before her fingers CURLED around his arm, pulling the two of them to a slight pause, ❝You need to tell me what we’re walking INTO. Something.❞

Jason didn’t want to see people killed, unless they deserved it. And although this young woman was on his turf, in a place that was about to be the scene of him exacting his revenge, he didn’t want her to die. It wasn’t caring about her perse, it was just making sure that he didn’t have someone elses blood on his hands, someone he’d told to go away. If she was wanting to stay then he couldn’t forcibly remove her from this situation. “No, but i’m betig you don’t want to die. which is a possibility if you’re here and are going to stay and fight.” He pointed out with a shrug of his shoulders. “Danger is nothing compared to what i’ve faced and what i’ve seen. Monsters, you don’t even know the true meaning of them, regardless of what you’ve seen.” His voice was harsh, as always when it came to discussing things connected to his past. At her words about the name he’d just called her, Jason rolled his eyes, “Fine...Clary. What kind of name is that? Is it short for something?” He mused before he carried on walking ahead when she stopped him, fingers curling around his arm, Jason stopped dead and turned his head to face her, “These men work for someone who escaped from an insane asylum, they have no morals and they’ll do whatever he’s asked with no remorse.” He pursed his lips under his mask and looked down at where her hand rested on his arm, “Let go.” He didn’t give her a choice and just pulled his arm away, before heading forward.

barnes flashed him a warning look at his disclosure, but he pointedly IGNORED it. this might be the only chance he had to tell the WHOLE story, and not just the condensed FAIRY TALE the mayor’s office would devise. they weren’t interested in helping those people. they just wanted them GONE. which, he knew, was partially why they’d called supergirl in the first place. they knew how powerful she was. it wasn’t a stretch to hope they could paint a BLEAK enough picture and she’d be more focused on ELIMINATING the threat than understanding it. but now she did. and mercifully she was inclined to listen. a GRATEFUL smile adorned his lips for several moments, knowing that no matter what was said ( or ASKED of her now ) she had the information to make the judgement call for herself.  ❝ that’s why you’re the perfect person to help us. you’re proof that you CAN control your abilities. that you can make the best of having powers and use them for good. ❞ it was an ideal he wasn’t sure they would see would play out, but it HAD to be worth a shot. if the procedures dr. strange had performed weren’t reversible ( which he HIGHLY doubted they were ) wasn’t it better to learn to live WITH them and use them for something worthwhile than come up with ways to CAGE them? the challenge now was FINDING them. and strange. right now most of the force was following LEADS and they were hot on the trails of a few of the patients, but strange had gone underground. vanished without a TRACE. barnes was the one to answer that question, informing supergirl that dr. strange was a top priority, but he was still off the grid. he had a lot of resources, and he’d been at this for decades. they were playing catch up. jim nodded, expression grim. they WOULD find him, but it would take time. and right now the immediate threat was the inmates. however, when it came to her next question, he’d blurted out an answer without a second thought, ❝ you could stay with me, ❞ as soon as the words were out of his mouth, he had to resist the urge to CURSE. who wanted to stay with a total stranger? not to mention, his place wasn’t exactly the RITZ. he cleared his throat, his tone FLUSTERED when he continued, ❝ northern hospitality and all. of course we can get you a room at any hotel in the city. there’s a great one only a few blocks from the station. ❞ at least harvey hadn’t been there for that. he’d NEVER hear the end of it.

The look that the other man flashed Detective Gordon wasn’t lost on Kara and she shot him a rather scathing look of her own. The blonde knew how people liked to sugarcoat things ut she wouldn’t stand for it now and she was glad that the young detective was telling her exactly what was going on. Kara wasn’t sure about this man. She kept her eyes on him for a few more moments before turning her attention right back to Detective Gordon. Once he’d finished speaking, she knew that whatever he needed of her, she’d do. She wasn’t sure if she trusted the other two and Kara was usually a really good judge of character, for the most part at least. At Jim’s words, Kara Tilted her head to the side and smiled softly, “It won’t be easy but....i’m sure if we can find them quickly then there may be a good chance of helping them. I don’t want to hurt anyone for something that wasn’t their fault...” She glaced at Barnes again briefly before looking back, “...even if they weren’t the best people. Everyone deserves a chance at redemption.”  When Kara was being addressed by this barnes guy, she listened, but showing him that she still wasn’t overly keen on him with her expression. As he talked, she folded her arms across her chest and nodded. The breakdown was good, and she knew before they even tackled Strange that they needed to tackle the inmates that were no loose with no clue of what was happening to them. The thought made her incredibly sad. Some had more than likely done some really bad things but that didn’t mean they deserved what this crazed lunatic had done.  After she’d asked her question, she didn’t expect the blurted answer that Jim gave and it caused her to give a shy smile and duck her head down. She cleared her throat and looked back up, the smile still playing around the edges of her lips. A hotel would mean that she might not hear everything as soon as it happened and that wouldn’t be good. Staying with someone part of the investigation would probably be better. “I don’t mind if I stay with you, i’m thinking given the case it might actually be better?” She pointed out with a shrug before tilting her head to the side. “I’ll have to go and collect some things from National City if I’m going to be here for more than a day or so though...” She couldn’t be Supergirl the entire time - not when she’d need to be discreet when following leads - it meant she may need to give up her secret identity eventually as well. 

the RESOLVE in her gaze was all the answer he needed. he nodded, eyes GRAVE yet his respect for her determination shone through. there were some ( too many ) who weren’t ready to TRUST wanda yet, but he would have put his life in her hands without batting an eyelash. she would FIGHT for this country as strongly and selflessly as she’d fought for her own. he wouldn’t be the one to DISCOURAGE her. he moved a few paces CLOSER, considering her question before answering, ❝ both. we all have to know how to utilize BOTH sides of ourselves. ideally you’ll always be able to use both, but experience has taught me you won’t always have that LUXURY. ❞ though arguably he couldn’t exactly help her IMPROVE upon her abilities. all he could do was teach her to use them in tandem with a battle. however, the training field had a few … - UPGRADES that could help him out.  ❝ we’re going to work on taking on multiple attackers. most of the people we face don’t have the MANNERS to wait their turn. you could have people coming at you from ALL sides. you ready? ❞

Wanda was determined to make a name for herself and actually do something for herself for once. With her brother gone, she really did feel alone but Steve was slowly allowing her the reasons for her to bring her walls down, reasons for her to trust him. The others, she was certain, didn’t trust her and maybe never would but if she focused on that then it made her nervous and when she was about to start training, that wasn’t a good idea. She needed to focus. At his words, Wanda nodded and put her hands out at her sides, the red energy sprouting from her hands as she slowly began to rise into the air. “That makes sense.” She agreed as she watched him careully, wondering if he’d tell her when they were starting or try and catch her off guard. As it was, he asked her if she was ready to which Wanda gave a nod that was more confident than she was feeling. “Show me what you got, Captain Rogers....” She tried to sound confident but she knew she’d failed.

Alec’s face screwed up a little at the taste of the cocktail, which he ended up just downing. They still disgust him to no end, which he doubted would ever change. Alcohol just wasn’t his thing. That, or he just hadn’t found the right combination just yet. “You’d better.” he muttered. He was honestly starting to doubt giving everything up for the warlock and desperately needed to know how Magnus felt towards him.

Magnus knew that Alec wasn’t a fan of cocktails or alcohol in general but this was just to calm Magnus’s nerves a little. He really hadn’t thought that Alec would even show up but now that he had downed his drink in one, he set his glass down and stepped towards Alec, taking the glass from him, he moved to wrap his arms around his waist. “I promised you i would and i keep my promises, Alexander..”

Alec had been trying to find something to get for Magnus for a long time and he had searched in so many different stores. He finally made his way into the last one on the list, looking utterly defeated by now. He glanced up at the girl behind the counter and let out a sigh. “What on earth do you buy for a warlock that has literally everything?” he questioned out of utter desperation.

It had been a relatively quiet day at the small store for Audrey but she had some paid spell work to attend to later that night so it never really bothered her when things were quiet. So she was just reading one of the old books on Warlock history when the door opened and a rather defeated looking man came wandering in. At his words, she gave a little smirk and then moved from behind the counter, "Let me guess....you're here to buy something for the one and only Magnus Bane?" She tilted her head to the side and raised both of her eyebrows as she folded her arms.
