“do you want a drink? soda? someone to snap you out of it?” she added, now leaning on the countertop of the bar. “the staring is flattering, really, but if you want to jump my bones, just ask for my number.”

it wasn’t often that dean was awake during the day shift, preferring to take over at night when things were rowdier. and usually, ruby was among the same - so it was weird for him to see her behind the bar when the sun was still out. “you lose a bet?” he grunted as he rotated around her to get to the coffee machine they kept behind the bar for barely awake night shifters - or people who just enjoyed coffee in a bar.

“want a cup?“ he asked over his shoulder as he grabbed a mug and poured himself a cup and turned around to face her, placing an arm over his chest as he used the other to sip his coffee. “so, you got plans for later? after your shift? i’m only here to provide backup and crap, you know - in case some asshat gets too loud or something. pretty sure yelena can handle the rest.“
