no one really talks about how growing up fat can steal your teen years like having a mental illness or growing up lgbt+ like. that wild teen romance. you don’t get one. too little confidence to pursue anyone, and no one pursues you either, because fatphobia either means people won’t be attracted to you in the first place or people are afraid to be mocked for wanting you. hanging out with friends who do wild crazy things, going on adventures. you don’t have that, because people (like family) hate you for being fat, and society hates you for being fat, so you hate yourself for being fat, and you think most people wouldn’t really want to associate with you for that, and all you can do is be content with the few friends that stick around. so you don’t push things, you keep your head down, you try and stay invisible, because if you look like you don’t even exist, no one will accuse you of taking up too much space
