It’s been a year already. Actually, it’s our First Year today. I still remember the first time you said that you like me. I never expect that from you. How can I forget that? It was one of the happiest moments of my life. I thought confessing your love for me will always be a dream, but you made that dream a reality.
You wiped my tears away when I felt broken and undone. You made me feel that I was much better compared to anyone else when I would belittle myself. You gave me reasons to hold on whenever I was at the edge of giving up. You gave me faith when I was losing hope. My happiness mattered to you. Why did I simply throw all of those things away?
We were from two different worlds, but we clicked in so many ways. That’s how I learned to love science, because it made me believe that opposites do attract. But things are different now. One day, I just woke up to a world where we’re not on the same page anymore. Perhaps I didn’t learn that everything you pushed away will not stay.
I loved you. And it pains me to say that to you. Even if I cry a thousand times, things will never get back to the way how we planned them to be. It pains me that I will face tomorrow without you by my side. It pains me that I ended us with a goodbye. It pains me knowing that I am the reason you chose to let go.
I learned that every love story has its own catastrophe. No one dared to get involved in the story that we both made – it was I who walked away. Fear was what made me let you go, and it is the same reason why I ended up alone. I guess, what we had was not a love story, but only a story about love.
I don’t want it to end this way. I want you to come back. But every time I think of you having a happy life now, it stops me from attempting to win you back. Maybe this is the consequence of turning my back on you. But I just want to let you know, you still have a special place in my heart, that you are appreciated more than you ever know.
