This was an intentional choice, as Strawflowers/Straw Chrysanthemums represent eternity in the language of flowers, a direct reference to Merlina’s desire to make the Grand Kingdom last forever. - Jari-Thure in JP Unleashed wonders if Sonic is perverted given that he wears only gloves. This is not mentioned in the English script and he wonders if Sonic is a weirdo instead. [SOURCE] - Chip refers to itself/himself in the third person in the JP script of Unleashed. - Omochao adds the word “Chao” onto the end of every sentence in Japanese. This quirk is not present with English Omochao.

- Although normally impossible to see, the room in the cutscene in Shadow the Hedgehog wherein Black Doom is shown beside Professor Gerald by the unconscious Shadow in his capsule has other capsules that contain horribly deformed Shadow’s, all of which are missing limbs. As stated, they are normally impossible to see and can only be seen by hacking the camera. They are notable for having entirely unique textures on their models [SOURCE]
- The early version of Sonic Unleashed’s opening showed Sonic’s actual skeleton whilst he is being electrocuted. This detail is completely missing from the version of the opening in the game’s final release [SOURCE]
- In Sonic 3/& Knuckles, Tails is entirely immune to Badnik projectiles whilst he is airlifting Sonic [SOURCE]

- The reason as to why the Eggman Empire’s logo resembles Classic Dr Eggman and other instances of Classic Eggman’s design in Sonic Adventure (Such as on the Sonic Pinball table in Casinopolis) is because of Satoshi Okano’s fondness for Classic Eggman’s design. [SOURCE]
- The Drop Dash, which was introduced in Sonic Mania, was originally planned for Sonic 3 and is present in the November 3rd 1993 Beta. It was removed in the final game [SOURCE]

- Fang the Sniper’s head shape was loosely based on Opa Opa, the main character of the SEGA game Fantasy Zone [SOURCE]
- Metal Sonic Kai in Chaotix has the same main and sub CPU’s as the Metal Sonic from Sonic CD, Dr Eggman just placed them into a new upgraded fuselage. This is stated in Chaotix’s JP manual. [SOURCE]
- Techno Tower in Chaotix is considered to be the symbol of Newtrogic High Zone. It also serves a purpose in that light energy is gathered there. This is stated in Chaotix’s JP manual [SOURCE]
- Amazing Arena is described as being like a fairground funhouse. It uses elements of time and video projection. This is stated in Chaotix’s JP manual [SOURCE]
- Botanic Base is described as being a shadow of its former self due to plant overgrowth. This can be witnessed in-game as later acts of this zone show the fountains overgrown. This is stated in Chaotix’s JP manual [SOURCE]
- Infinite’s species (Jackal) is specifically a reference to the Egyptian god Anubis. Who is portrayed as a Jackal in ancient Egyptian mythology [SOURCE]
- The Chaos Emeralds are one in the same as the Super Emeralds and the events of Sonic 3 & Knuckles are in fact canon - Sonic Team simply don’t want to deal with multiple tiers of power forms-wise so only Super states are relevant as of present, not Hyper forms. - Sonic is fussy about music [SOURCE]
- The reason why the water in Chaos 4′s arena causes damage to your player character is because Chaos itself is manipulating the water and causing it to be dangerous according to the JP Sonic Adventure guidebook [SOURCE]
- The final boss of Sonic Forces has the rough ore/origin stone of the Phantom Ruby inside it’s central mouth, a form of the Ruby shown only in concept art [SOURCE]
- One of Bark’s original concepts was an Orangutan [SOURCE]

- Metal Sonic’s sprites in Sonic CD have white irises and a blue tail. This is because they were based on the character’s early concept art and not it’s finalized design [SOURCE]
- Half of the reason as to why Mephiles stole Shadow’s shadow was becuse he recognised Shadow’s status as the ultimate lifeform and so wanted Shadow’s power for his own. The other half of his reason was because he held a grudge against him. [SOURCE]
- The Egg Walker’s weakness is its ankles because it has balancers on them to stabilize the mech’s center of gravity. This is why the mech tips to one side when Tails attacks the balancers [SOURCE]
